  • Post in thread: XUBA: How do they do it?

My Xuba 280ah cells have gone through two discharge tests so far with good results; 269ah and 274ah. That's starting from 3.59 volts per cell at no load with 0.002 cell imbalance (14.4 vdc strung together), and 3.325 to 3.150 with the 32 amp test load (0.114 C) with a 0.175 imbalance under...
  • Post in thread: XUBA: How do they do it?

My order for four cells came to Southern California in exactly 40 days; 15 days processing + 25 days shipping. Fedex took less than a day to get it from LA to Santa Barbara. I've had them for a few days now and testing looks good so far. I'm only loading them to 32 amps discharge and 10 amps...

At least you were secure .... convenience/security .... pick one.
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

I ordered four of the 280ah cells on 6/17/20, advertising on the Xuba web site said 15 days processing and 25 days shipping, that's forty days. That would put the delivery to the USA port at 7/27/20. I'm in the Santa Barbara area so very close to LA. I received the cells YESTERDAY ! That's some...
  • Post in thread: Problem paying on Alibaba, help please

I had a problem with the credit card going through; check your security software on your computer. I had to basically disable it for the time of the transaction then it went through no problem. Just disable it for a short time, not globally. It will then reset after the transaction. Give it a shot.
  • Post in thread: Problem paying on Alibaba, help please

There might be some fraud check on your card or maybe you have one of those complimentary ID protections you don't even remember saying "OK" to on your cards that works through the credit check agencies. Welcome to the world wide economy.

  • Post in thread: Problem paying on Alibaba, help please

Welcome Chi, we might need a little more information about your needs. Do you need 4kw continuously? Or do your loads have a duty cycle? This a solar powered system alone without any other charging source? There are many choices to make.
  • Post in thread: Can you connect panels of different sizes?

Can you connect panels of different sizes? Like a 160 watt Renogy and a 100 watt Renogy? Would parallel connection cause an issue with mismatched voltage? Would a series connection work better by just producing a sum of the two panel's output voltage and letting the mppt controller deal with it?
  • Post in thread: Giandel 1200 watt inverter spec

Looking at the Giandel 1200 inverter, the specs have the cutoff voltage as 9.8 VDC , that would give a 4s lifepo4 battery a cell voltage of 2.45vdc . The minimum cell discharge voltage for lifepo4 is 2.5vdc ... anyone every have any problems with this situation? I suspect the 0.05vdc difference...
  • Post in thread: 280Ah 3.2V battery seller on Alibaba seller OK?

Hey ghostwriter66, have you received your 280ah batteries yet? I ordered four about a month ago, no fedex tracking info yet. Let us know when yours arrive. tt p.s. The single cell price with shipping for me from Xuba was $120.67 per cell for four cells.
  • Post in thread: BMS question

I'm talking about voltage on the battery connection of a SCC from the battery/BMS so that the voltage from the solar panels won't damage the SCC. The charge controllers I have require a battery to be connected before you connect the solar panels or it will damage the SCC. If I'm wrong I'd love...
  • Post in thread: Giandel 1200 watt inverter spec

Yes, the bms could take care of it but I don’t really want to have to reset the bms after a low voltage cut off, the inverter is where it should happen, the bms is a SHTF last chance device.
  • Post in thread: 280Ah 3.2V battery seller on Alibaba seller OK?

60 days, .... ok, so I’m half way there. I also ordered from Xuba, ... $482.68 for four 280 ah cells shipped to California. Thanks for your reply. tt
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 best deal

The price is definitely a good one. If you look carefully at the details about the 105ah and the 280ah cells only the 105 ah cells mention anything about being grade A cells. Grade A is important to get if you intend to hold on to these cells for a long time.
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

For those of you that have already received your batteries how do you like them so far? Have you done any capacity tests yet; are they matched pretty well for top and bottom balancing; does anything on them or thier paper work say that the 280ah cells are grade A? I've noticed on their web site...
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

I will be very interested in how that works out for you. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a similar setup, but I want to have the BMS in hand before the batteries show up so I can start testing immediately. I have a few small test orders in to AliExpress and it is very hit and miss as to how...
  • Post in thread: 280Ah 3.2V battery seller on Alibaba seller OK?

It’s kinda’ Funny. This whole battery thing from China is a real crap shoot. So far Wan Amy from Xuba seems like a honest dealer. Would you agree ghostwriter66? We’re the batteries you received in good shape and test to spec?
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

Hey newbostonconst, what size did you order, 280ah or 105ah? Glad to here they looked good and tested close for voltage. Looking forward to hearing your experience with capacity tests. If you have the 280ah cells is there anything on them or with the paper work that specifies them as grade A...
  • Post in thread: BMS question

If the Common port BMS sees a condition that disconnects the battery from its output won't that cause the SCC to be disconnected from the battery and allow the solar panels to damage the SCC? If you make a secondary connection directly to the battery bypassing the BMS connection that will assure...
  • Post in thread: Off grid v grid tie panels

I was thinking like code compliance for equipment that is conn to the grid. I’m here in California and I’m installing a grid tie system without backup using micro inverters from Enphase. I know you have to match the micro inverter specs but is there any “residential code compliance “ for just...

  • Post in thread: Anyone used this item?

I want to build a small battery box for camping. There are many SLA batteries that will work in the space I have, but I'd like to use a small LiFePO4 if I can find one. The 100 -50 ah are to big. I was hoping to find something around 20-35 ah. Any leads?
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

I just placed an order for the 280ah 4 pack of LiFePO4 cells from Xuba; Wan Amy was very helpful and the shipping looked lower than what is on the companies web page. Wan Amy mentioned that the shipping costs to US were coming down recently. So now the wait begins ...... good luck to all of us.
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 best deal

when did you order the 280ah cells? Are they grade A new cells? How long did they take to deliver from China? I do like your idea of going with the 280ah cells. Have you been able to do a capacity test yet? Thanks for the info.
  • Post in thread: How far can you push a charge controller?

I'm looking at the EP Tracer BN 30 amp model because it physically fits into a build I'm working on. I really want to use 4 100 watt Rich Solar mono panels because they fit onto a cab rack on my Tacoma. The specs of the charger unit says max 390 Watt at 12 volt for PV input ..... do you think I...

  • Post in thread: acceptable bottom balance voltage delta

I'm discharging my 280ah LiFePO4 cells from Xuba to bottom balance them. What is an acceptable delta in the cell voltage? Right now they are about 0.074 vdc between max to min (3.141 max, 3.067 min). Thoughts?
  • Post in thread: XUBA:: How long is it taking you guys to get your XUBA shipments??

Nice photos dswiggum, good luck with the assembly, let us know how your capacity testing goes. Leyte is a very famous battle ground of the war in the Pacific, my Dad went through the Philippines on his way to Kunming in China and spoke very highly of the brave Filipino people. All the best. tomtilly
  • Post in thread: Anyone used this item?

Ya, it's a good size for the installation I'm working on and the price seems reasonable for the capacity. If I don't hear anything from the forum I might be the guinea pig. Not sure I'll cut it open with a multitool like Will .... maybe.
  • Post in thread: BMS function test

I just got my BMS (4s DYBK) but I'm still waiting for the batteries. Does anyone know if there is a way I can test the BMS without hooking it up to four lifepo4 cells? If you put 12 vdc across the red and black sensor wires should it come to life enough so that I can test the bluetooth module...

  • Post in thread: BMS question

I think you are right on. I contacted the manufacturer of the Epever Tracer3215BN and they said do not connect PV without battery connected first, but they wouldn't give any technical explanation. I think it comes down to the load and maybe the total open circuit voltage of the PV panels at the...

  • Post in thread: Favorite cheap charge controller

I'm looking to build a small "ammo can" battery box; max 2/100 watt panels and sealed lead acid batteries that will fit in the can. Any favorite cheap PWM charge controllers you like? • Post in thread: LiFePO4 best deal

Hi All, I'm ready to build a 100ah LiFePO4 12v pack for my camper. Any suggestions on what's the current hot deal on a set of four cells and a full function BMS (low temp cut off sensor and separate charger connection). I'm not averse to Aliexpress if it's a well known store. Thanks.

  • Post in thread: Repair your mppt scc

I have some experience in troubleshooting "random" electrical/electronic failures and it usually comes down to current. Perhaps the reason some of these SCCs fail and others don't when no battery is connected is that the panels aren't supplying power at moment the battery is disconnected or...
  • Post in thread: BMS question

The Epever Tracer 3215BN, it's a 30a charge current, 150 volt PV max input voltage. That's why I'm so confused about the possible damage from the PV input, if it's rated for 150 volts my three panels in series won't give more than 65 volts. I'd like to see the schematic of the unit, maybe that...
  • Post in thread: BMS question

One reason I am concerned about it is that Will does go out of his way to emphasize disconnecting the PV side before you remove the battery when working on the system. I suspect he may have smoked a few units in his time. I like to learn from others mistakes but it's nice to also understand why...
