Thanks for the response. Idle draw is somewhat important to me as I'd like to use this for several days without recharging, ideally. I'll get a Victron 24/2000, or the MultiPlus II if it comes out soon. I just ordered the batteries (13kWh) from Michael (via this site). Should get them in ~2 month.

I think it was due to battery voltage. Changed settings, never had the problem again.
  • Post in thread: Victron Multiplus shutting down

I just had a second shutdown. This time I was on vacation. I'd really like to figure out how to prevent this - a UPS that cuts power off (fridge etc) isn't really useful. I don't have a "Victron console" (is that a GX?) and hence do not know what led to the shutdown. I also did not find...

Due to frequent power outages I've decided to build a battery backup system. What inverter/charger should I get? I need 2000W sustained power, 3000W surge, but most of the time the load is <150W, hence inverter idle power is somewhat important. I'd prefer a 48V dc system. The Victron...

For anyone looking for a unit: I ordered from inverter supply, should get it next week.

Shutdown happened only once, so it's a little difficult to diagnose. I doubt that connections are an issue, all bolts are tightened to the appropriate torque. Is there somewhere a document that describes the situations under which the Multiplus shuts down? Presumably if it runs out of power -...

14.4 vs 14.2V is the bulk & absorption voltage? This corresponds to 3.6 vs 3.55V per cell. What does this do to balancing? When I got the cells, I top-balanced to 3.65V. Presumably the reason of the relatively "high" voltage for balancing is the high slope of cell voltage versus charge. At...

The following issue listed in Section 7.1 (general error indicators) may apply: Problem: Inverter operation not initiated when switched on Cause: The battery voltage is excessively high or too low. No voltage on DC connection. Solution: Ensure that the battery voltage is within the correct...
  • Post in thread: Victron Multiplus shutting down

Unit was completely off (no lights at all). After turning Multiplus unit off and back on again (with the rocker switch), it immediately shut down again after rapidly "blinking" a few lights. Then I turned off the battery (a BMS option). Now power cycling brought the Multiplus back to life with...
  • Post in thread: MultiPlus-II inverter & charger 3000 Watts, 48 Volts DC, 120 Volts AC

Mine is in operation for ~ 2 month now; yesterday we had our first true outage. Worked perfect - we did not notice the outage until we heard a neighbors generator ...

The 24/2000 is 11W, the 12/2000 9W zero load dissipation, but the 24/3000 is 20W, per the manual. Over 3 days that's 1.44kWh, not quite negligible. Incidentally I just checked and for the Quattro 48/3000 the manual says 25W zero power load. Did you measure the consumption of yours? Perhaps the...
  • Post in thread: MultiPlus-II inverter & charger 3000 Watts, 48 Volts DC, 120 Volts AC

Does anyone have information on this apparently new Multplus ii for 48VDC / 120VAC? It's shown on for sale at solar-electric.com with a manual and also invertersupply.com (not sure it's the same unit). Page 20 of the manual shows the specs. The match the description, except DC input voltage...

As best as I remember you just push the wires into the round holes. Taking them out is harder: I believe you need to push a screwdriver or something into the square hole. I found these also a bit troublesome.
  • Post in thread: Victron Multiplus Charging Current

I have a 48V Muliplus II. In VictronConnect I’ve set the charger current to 10A. Nevertheless, the battery is charged with 20A. I tried other values, they all seem to be ignored. Anybody knows how to set the bulk charger current?
  • Post in thread: Victron Multiplus shutting down

Recently my Multiplus shut down and I wonder why this happened and how to prevent this in the future. By shutdown I mean the unit powered off and no longer passed shore current to the loads (power was not out at the time). The unit ran over 6 month without problems (taking over seamlessly during...

I think the video is for the 12V version. I got the 48V unit. Just google inverter supply, they have both models. BTW: I received mine last week, no wait until June.
