I am thinking of using your mounting method. Did you use VHB tape to mount the mini rails to your roof, or did you have to drill into the roof? What type of roof do you have? Did you have to drill into any supporting beam underneath the roof? How did your install hold up to strong winds and...

Planning to put 6x 200W 24V panels on my Super C RV. Planning to hook them up all parallel with a combiner box to avoid shading issues. I have 8 AWG from the combiner box to the MPPT (about 15 f) should be good for the ~35A running through it I bought a Victron 150/100 TR (12v / 24V only)...

On hot days, yes the panel could get hot, then I just disconnect them from the array. On cooler days with the AC not running, I think It would be fine.

I can get also 3x 200W 24V panels on each side of my Super C. Planning to mount them on Struts attached to the Fiberglass roof with VHB Tape (and maybe some screws if needed protected with Sika Flex). Other RV'ers have had good experience mounting huge 460W panels this way on RV roof...

I am going though the same process for mounting solar panels on my Super C RV.. I like the bigger 200W 24V panels than the 100W 12V, since they produce more watts per surface area available for mounting the panels.

I am not sure I would be comfortable driving my Super C 65 mph down the hwy with these big panels raised at such heights above the roof? There could be a lot of lift from air flow below the panel.
