    Need Help/Advice

I have very little knowledge regarding solar components and design. But the main fault with the design as I found out thru this site was there was 2 strings of 5 panels with a total of 3100 watts feeding into a midnite 150 charge controller. Also had the wrong inverter so had that changed over...

    Need Help/Advice

Well sorry to report that I am once again looking for advice from the experts on this site that have been super helpful in the past. I was supplied with a faulty design from the beginning of this process trying to get an off grid system set up at my cabin in Northern Saskatchewan. I rectified...

Ok I have finally got things sorted with the supplier and he has agreed to exchange the 12V inverter for a 24V inverter. I will also be getting another Midnite 250 charge controller. So I think the plan is to have 5 panels ran into one Midnite 250 charge controller and then the other 5 panels...

But the system as it currently sits is hooked up as 12V. Is it a danger having it hooked up as is with everything feeding into the one midnite 250 with a 12V system? I am unable to change the orientation of the panels due to the ground mount system being fixed.

If I change the system to a 24V is another midnite 250 going to be able to handle the full 3100 watt array? I have attached a form my Dad filled out with midnite and it seems to say I need a midnite 150 or 200 because they handle more power??? Solarqueen has been very helpful and mentioned...

Anyone know what the wiz bang junior is for? This was with the package as well but it’s not hooked up because there was a part missing?

Ok thanks for the info. To be honest just left the inverter on because I didn’t know to turn it off and didn’t realize it would drain the batteries.

I have been hoping for a full sun day but hasn't happen. I am just trying to decide the best route to take so wanted to confirm I understand what the options might be..... 1) Keep the 12V inverter and add another Midnite 250 charge controller. In this case I should get double what I am...

I checked my invoice and I have the MNPV3 combiner box. Would this have to be changed?

I think they are only 2 wires coming from the solar array to the cabin. The combiner box is mounted on the array and then the 2 wires come into cabin from there. From what everyone is saying I am guessing the best option would be to try and swap the 12v inverter for 24 volt inverter, preferably...

Thanks so much for everyone’s input and suggestions- I really appreciate it! But if I am being honest, I think I am more confused now than when I started. Lol. Like I mentioned at the beginning I understand very little of the technical aspects. I bought the solar from a local company and had...

Thanks digitalsteve. If the charger is hooked up as you indicate and plugged into generator to charge, does the inverter just need to be turned off or disconnected? And what about the charge controller? Does it have to be disconnected? If I am not up there for 6 or 7 weeks, do you think...
