Greetings, Have had my Electrodacus SMBS120 running for 2-3 months now that I got in the lastest crowdfund. It works well and you can use it as a BMS only. I do have some small 24/12/5VDC DC loads on the load terminal but most of my loads are two inverters, a 2Kw 120 unit and a 4KW 120/240...

Tree loppers work well for bigger stranded copper and are cheap.
  • Post in thread: I am looking at installing a small grid tie system that can be expanded later.

I will start with the fact that I am not a licensed electrician and installed my system myself however I do have close friends that are licensed residental and commercial electricians to draw on. I live in Texas and work with an electric co-op. I had to submit a schematic of the system and list...
  • Post in thread: TechLuck electric/solar hybrid hot water heater?

I've been looking for an easier solution for some time. I've built collectors with copper tube and sheet metal surface and while they worked pretty well, the biggest problem has always been water related. The easiest one to make and install was a simple open loop system that used a low outlet...
  • Post in thread: Battery Monitor that can handle multiple battery?

A couple of the Electrodacus units have WiFi but the units are to manage a single bank of multiple batteries.
  • Post in thread: ElectroDacus doing it's thing

Love cool sunny mornings when the ElectroDacus can pull 2492.8 watts out of panels designed to only do 2450! The batteries are full now so it's time to turn on some heaters to put heat in the house with the extra watts.
  • Post in thread: Newb question #11- Charge controller PV inputs MC4 or screw terminals?

Most of the charge controllers I have seen have screw terminals.

Greetings, Has anyone else looked into one of these. I am thinking about going this way since my house is old and already has a newer 50 gallon tank electric heater. No plumbing required. I plan to feed it with 4 used 245watt 24v panels. Tech Luck Hybrid Hot Water Heater

I've been following these for a while and will be my next step. I will use the same used solar panels off of ebay that I used on the install of my ElectroDacus as they have proven themselves. Just gotta pay off some stuff first.
  • Post in thread: Hello from Central Texas

Greetings, I have been following solar and wind for quite a few years. A little over 3 years ago, I took the initial plunge and installed a 6.8Kw Gridtie system using Suniva 340watt panels and a SMA inverter. I did the entire install myself with the help of my youngest son for the parts that...
  • Post in thread: ElectroDacus doing it's thing

I have the html file on my PC and a wireless adapter set to recognize the ElectroDacus AP and do screen captures on it. I have also edited the html file to slow down the refresh rate from 3 to 10 seconds on the PC so you have more time to capture the screen. This is the first time have seen it...
  • Post in thread: I am looking at installing a small grid tie system that can be expanded later.

I will say this guy was fairly knowledgeable about grid-tie solar installations. We emailed back and forth quite a bit and exchanged information and his answers were on point. Early on in the process, he pointed out resources and information and came across as more of an instructor than an...
