Torque for Threaded Rod - (8) Cells, (6) 3/8 Rods

Ended up going with standard nuts instead of nylocs. 4 rods on the end @ 5 in-lbs. 2 rods in the center @ 10 in-lbs. Measuring it is very equal across the fixture. So, I'm guessing the middles do have to have twice the torque.

Torque for Threaded Rod - (8) Cells, (6) 3/8 Rods

I'm building 2 12v batteries in the same compression fixture. Because I have two groups of 4 cells, I have 6 3/8 rods to compress them. Can somebody help me out with how to calculate the torque required? 3/8 Rods 3/8 Nylon Locking Nuts w/ Flat Washers Eve 280K Cells I've read that you need...

    Parallel Batteries via Busbar?

I have two 4-cell 280ah 12v batteries - both have a 4S BMS. If I connect them, as shown in this pic - any issues? I'm trying to avoid connecting the two banks together to make it easier to take them in/out of my trailer. If it matters, a SCC and a Multiplus (and 12v loads) are connected to...

    I didn't! That is coolio.

@smoothJoey - I tried to combine your recommendation (12v diagram) into my drawing. How's this:

"Its not." - LOL. I was guessing it wasn't. Your reply made me laugh though.

Explain the need for a shunt? ;-) Here's my second attempt at making this closer to what folks have suggested: No idea if the battery configuration is correct or not. I assume I'll create two "separate" batteries and then combine them, keeping 12v.

    Awesome explanation!

    Setup for custom-built "RV"

By build it out, I just meant that I could Install components without hooking things up with wires yet. I have some bigger blue sea bus bars - 5/16 studs and 250A rated. I assumed I would just use those. I'll look up the battery protect.

    Setup for custom-built "RV"

I settled on a few things (12v, fewer panels and a Multiplus) and would like your opinions on my drawing. Is there anything that I'd need to add to this? Possibly another battery switch or a breaker between the solar panels and the MPPT? At this time, not worried about wire/fuse size - mainly...

    Setup for custom-built "RV"

I'm so indecisive. Should I go with separate components or a Victron Multiplus 24v unit (like the 24/2000/50)? Seems it may make sense by the time I buy a AC->DC charger, 24v-12v Converter, Transfer Switch, etc. With the 8 cells I've purchased, should I create a 24v battery or two 12v. Geez.

Anyone have an opinion on this charger - https://www.aimscorp.net/ac-converter-battery-charger-12v-and-24v-smart-charger-75-amps-listed-to-ul-458-csa.html I'll most likely buy the Victron Orion 24/12-70 DC-DC converter that was mentioned above.

Will it charge off both ac power and solar panels when the inverter is turned off?

I do plan on keeping that battery, unless there's a reason to get rid of it and go w/ something else. Right now, it's charging off the 7-pin adapter.
