I have a dual eg46500ex in split phase setup with 6 eg4 lifepower batteries. System is working good and with my load and solar generation I cycle the battery down to 60% +- every day. Im in sunny florida so we get good sun. I am thinking about adding a second bank with 6 lifepower batteries for emergency use when we get a rainy week or hurricane. I wanted to use the second bank only when needed and was thinking I could charge the primary system through an inverter and also recharge the second bank when used and keep it at 100%. Is it better on the batteries to just cycle them every day and tie the two banks together or just use them when needed.
