Hi:

I know just enough about lithium to be dangerous!

Two years ago, I bought a Relibatt 100ah lithium battery. I chose the Relibatt as it was one of the few that was able to fit into my Roadtrek battery compartment. It has been working flawlessly ever since I installed it.

Two days ago, I checked the app and it showed that it was in protection mode. When I checked the Cell voltage tab, the voltage on cell 1 and 2 would swap approximate voltage. One would be very high and the other would be very low. They changed every few seconds.

I have attached pictures.

Any advice would be appreciated.

P.S. There website has been down for several months and I assume that they are no longer in business,rb1.jpgrb2.jpgrb3.jpg

Sounds like a bad balance/sense lead (or a bad BMS), if the mfr is unresponsive and/or you are out of warranty(*) I'd open it up and see if there's anything obvious going on.

Here's Will's teardown:
He started out unimpressed but came to like it, and it looks easy enough to disassemble.

Ah, relibatt.com isn't even registered, someone could pick it up for $2.5/month and <nope, I got nothin'>

(*) Supposed to be a 5-year warranty, but if they build crappy batteries and went belly-up because of warranty claims then too bad for you.

Any advice would be appreciated
Poor interconnection between the two cells and/or balance leads, a loose connection plug/socket on the BMS, faulty BMS.
Open up and see what the problem is. If the cells are OK, worst case is a reacememt BMS.
