Please see the attached Schematic-Photo.
Should all be self explanatory.
Questions:
1. What size should my MPPT be?
2. Can an MPPT be "Oversize" electrically, or is that just an excessive cost thing?
3. How to properly connect the 24V marine alternator/engine to the system?
- Should I wire it into the MPPT at all?
- If YES, then what current should I limit my alternator to?
- If NO, then how do I monitor the battery charge? The Alternator does have a Remote Charge Sensor on it.
4. Total Power/Energy Consumption should be only about 8Ah per day ==> 192 Watt-hrs per day.
5. Recommended size of Solar Array? Seems like 100W Panel at 5hrs/day of sunshine would be more than enough. Should I go with 200W for quicker charge?
6. Also, I show the pump connected to the "Load" terminals on the MPPT. Is that the best way to do it, or is it better to connect the load direct to the batteries?
7. I can easily add another 16AHs worth of batteries, making this a 32AH system. Should I do that to help with cloudy/bad weather.
This, and another system that I am working on, are remote systems. That is the reason for the Marine Alternator/Engine. I will have it on a small trailer and will be able to wheel it out to these remote applications to charge the batteries, in case of uncooperative weather!![Cool  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks and God Bless!
