Wondering if anyone knew how a grid tied system wires into the power supply.

More details please. Not sure what you want to do exactly.
Just wondering if it hooks in to the panel box or if it requires something else, like solar panels go to inverter then where does inverter go to, (does it go to a regular breaker?)was looking for a wiring diagram but couldn’t find a good one.

I just wrote a reply to Grid-Tied solar with a much complicated diagrams with the link below:

If your looking for an off-grid solution, Will's blue print link has many diagrams. https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/all-in-one-solar-power-packages1.html

For example, if you have an all-in-one inverter, you will hook up the solar panels to the charge controller input, and take the AC out and you could hook it up to the sub-panels or like Will's video, to a plug and connect to power strips and use it that way.

Hope that helps.

This is how a SolarEdge with panel optimizers is grid-tied.

Grid <--> Net-Meter --> Loads panel
Grid <--> Net-Meter <-> Solar panels

The house and the solar are connected to the utility meter at the exact same point.

The complete picture:
Solar Panels --> Inverter --> Net Meter --> Loads Panel/Grid

The Net-Meter:

The solar panel meter - it serves no purpose other than to show how much total the panels have produced in their lifetime.

The solar panel manual disconnect.

This setup has 3 distinct disconnects between the panels and the house. The DC disconnect before the inverter, the AC disconnect before the panel meter, and finally a 3rd inside the meter.

Didn’t think I would need a charge controller with a grid tied system. I have no interest in having any battery’s with this system.

Your installer(actually you "can" do the installation DIY, learn the code and go for it.) would make something then that is "normal" grid-tied, just like what I have installed and show here.

This box is really the only thing that made it a lot easier for the installation. It is what lets you split the house side to have two lines in parallel after the net-meter.

K thanks this is what I was looking for. The connection is at the meter and not the panel box.

This meter receiver would have to be changed right

The truth is, as long as the connection is WITH the mains, it doesn't matter where it is connected between the meter and the main circuit breaker.

The meter itself yes would have to be changed to something the utility will provide.

If you can manage to feed a second line into this box, use it. Or connect at the load's panel with the main circuit breaker to the panel.
