Hello !
I am building small electric motors ( layouts) using only the power of the solar panels ( no battery involved in this projects ) . I am looking forward to improve them for future applications ( non - comercial ) like : ventilation, mechanichal inverter DC to AC, etc. Any sugestions for improvments ?
1. Reed switch solar motor
More specfic : a pulsed motor
- magnets are disposed on the rotor N-N-N -
This is a circuit which stores energy from solar cells in a capacitor and releases it in pulses to run the engine.
The capacitor alows the motor tot run in cloudy days.
About the pulsed motors :
A pulsed motor uses short pulses of current to drive the motor, making it spin. The part of the motor that spins is called the rotor. Acting as a flywheel, and has multiple permanent magnets. These magnets are usually extremely strong (neodymium magnets) and can be arranged in a variety of different configurations. The stator is the stationary part of the motor that surrounds the rotor. It holds one or more electrical coils. They are positioned so that the magnets line up with the coils/coil, during part of the rotation. The coils are energized when they are exactly lined up with the permanent magnets in the rotor. When electrical coils are energized with a short pulse of current, they produce a repulsive force. When magnet gets close to the reed switch, the two contacts inside the glass tube get magnetized and touch each other.
Future possible applicatons : ventilation
2. An electric motor based on a neodymium sphere
This solar motor is powered with only 67 milliwatts, an experimental electric motor, using a single mini solar panel from an office calculator. A driving system consisting of a single coil from an old transformer with thin wire and a permanent magnet with two poles ( N and S) .
Vimun mini solar panel - 29.44mm×11.6mm×1.1mm, 4 cells
rotor : neodymium magnet sphere
stator : coil iron less, thin copper wire
Available input power : 1.25 V X 0.0536 ma h DC
electronics : from a typical solar dancing " hula girl " toy
Future possible applications : mechanical inverter, adding a second coil near the spnning magnet - obtaining AC power
If you have ideas for improvments, I am looking forward to hear it.
Thx.
