With all its quirks, I have been successfully using an R8NA Megarevo hybrid inverter for about 6 months.
This morning it started throwing various errors - grid frequency, voltage, busbar voltage, iso, etc. I said Ok, let's reboot. Not the first time I had to do that.
During reboot, I hear a loud bang, and a small piece of plastic flies out of the case. It's dead now. It replaced a 6KW SUnpower inverter that ran for 9 years nonstop with the same solar array.
I played the lottery and lost. I put so much effort into this. Maybe someone can identify what component blew up.

Need some scale to tell. Why not open it up or are you able to get warranty service?

It's open, but there are two layers of parts. The thing that blew must be in the back. It is under warranty; we'll see what that's worth.

@minerva Who did you get the inverter from, are you also talking to the salesperson to see if they can help? I have one on the way so I have interest in if they will actually help you. I'm asking my contact how you'd be helped, sent her the link to this thread.

I bought it on Alibaba. Lovsun Energy Group. They weren't even selling it at the time but contacted Megarevo and had it drop-shipped to me. I did contact them, and I was told that Megarevo was contacted and "it's under analysis". I have to say though that multiple attempts to contact Megarevo were in vain. Various emails, Facebook, through the retailer. They ignore me. This product is "as is". The warranty means absolutely nothing.

It blows my mind there has been absolutely no CS or TS support from this company, at any point, for anyone! Very disappointing!

Please keep us posted on any updates.

@minerva Is Tina still communicating with you? I'm dealing with a different manufacturer on troubleshooting and it's so painful waiting until night when the sun doesn't shine for them to look at logs.

Yes, she is. She has been in touch with Megarevo supposedly and some resolution has been promised. Nothing has happened yet though.

Is it safe to assume there's been no action to replace or quickly repair your broken Megarevo yet? Ideally they are sending a replacement given the time and cost associated with sending the broken inverter to China and back! I would imagine the round trip shipping alone would cost close to $1200+. Seeing how (and how quickly) the company handles this should be important to other perspective buyers/owners...

So, I don't want to jinx it but this is what is happening:

Lovsun surprised me. They are sending a new inverter. It will cost me about $600 shipping (assuming I can avoid tariffs being a replacement) but that's still better than $2,500 down the drain.
Megarevo never responded. Even the email contact who previously (very slowly) responded to technical inquiries has ignored multiple emails about the warranty. Same with their FB CS, WhatsApp and other e-mail contacts. I have not tried calling over the phone. Zero response.

We at least LS is stepping up, I'm glad to hear it! It makes me wonder if Megarevo is agreeing to replace it for them on the backside, or if they are taking the hit???

I've found the reported total lack of CS & TS support from Megarevo very troubling, even before your issue took place. Now that we've seen the first failure in the field, I find it even more so troubling they have not even responded to you. There looks to be a huge gap here and as a potential customer, it's very concerning...
