My Megarevo 8K went boom.

We at least LS is stepping up, I'm glad to hear it! It makes me wonder if Megarevo is agreeing to replace it for them on the backside, or if they are taking the hit???

I've found the reported total lack of CS & TS support from Megarevo very troubling, even before your issue took place. Now that we've seen the first failure in the field, I find it even more so troubling they have not even responded to you. There looks to be a huge gap here and as a potential customer, it's very concerning...
I am fairly certain that Megarevo replaced it for them. Those Chinese retailers don't have the margins to afford the replacement on their own. Knowing what I know now, I would not have chanced it with a manufacturer like that.

You
For my off-grid house I think I'm gonna go with discrete units, MPPT chargers separate from inverters, that way i'm less likely to be totally down if there is a single failure.
You have many options. Megarevo has the ability to do time-shifting and back feed battery power into the grid. Few have that ability. There are relatively cheap and reliable off-grid inverters; I wouldn't bother with separate components.

With everything you know now, what would you do if you were buying today?

Since I'm off-grid, time shifting and feeding to the grid are irrelevant to me. The most important thing is that my batteries and inverter function reliably with a minimum of fuss.

My point exactly. You have dozens of affordable all-in-one options.

Seems like if any cheap components on the AIO fails, I'm out until it gets swapped. I'd rather use multiple Victron inverter(s). Multiple AIOs isn't the worst option, I guess. But if I'm depending on each LV6548 for each half phase or whatever, that's still not great.

Well my 8k stopped working today. At around 9:30 this morning the EPS turned off. The screen was frozen and not-responsive to button presses. I turned it off, let it sit for about a minute, and turned it back on. It is stuck on "INIT, STANDBY, STANDBY". All values are zero. No error codes. It is still communicating with the Solarman website, and even there, everything is just zero.

Sorry to hear this! Please keep us posted with updates.

Two failures on this forum alone, given the small number of users, does not sound encouraging. Never mind how many software bugs have been discussed. It will be interesting to see how the others hold up and how the MFG handles the issues...

Well, oddly enough, I noticed that my firmware page showed ARM: V1.03.06 but DSP: V0.00.00.

I figured it was worth a try so I grabbed the firmware from the other thread, uploaded it to the inverter and rebooted. Sure enough, its back up and running.:unsure:(y)

Great news, glad to hear it! Any feel for changes in the new FW?

OMG, I just noticed my DSP was V0.00.00 this morning on Solarman. Checked it on the inverter and showing the same thing. Just updated the software two days ago. Still working though.

Did you folks try to update the firmware before it ended up being 0.0.0?

An update on my failed inverter. Crickets from Megarevo. Not one response.
However, the Alibaba supplier - LovSun - that provided me with the inverter, did step up to the plate and sent me another one. It did cost me an extra $600 for shipping. I am, however, back in business. So thank you LovSun and Tina but the jury on Megarevo is in for me.

I decided to pass on this inverter due to your experience and lack of contact from Megarevo. TY for sharing everything.

The new one keeps freezing up. The screen stops updating even though the interface remains responsive. (sighs)

What firmware? After V1.04.09 I did not have the freeze up anymore and the update to Solarman worked fine.

It shipped with V1.03.09 and V1.04.09. Are we at V2 now or that was a typo?
