You have many options. Megarevo has the ability to do time-shifting and back feed battery power into the grid. Few have that ability. There are relatively cheap and reliable off-grid inverters; I wouldn't bother with separate components.
My point exactly. You have dozens of affordable all-in-one options.Since I'm off-grid, time shifting and feeding to the grid are irrelevant to me. The most important thing is that my batteries and inverter function reliably with a minimum of fuss.
Sorry to hear this! Please keep us posted with updates.Well my 8k stopped working today. At around 9:30 this morning the EPS turned off. The screen was frozen and not-responsive to button presses. I turned it off, let it sit for about a minute, and turned it back on. It is stuck on "INIT, STANDBY, STANDBY". All values are zero. No error codes. It is still communicating with the Solarman website, and even there, everything is just zero.![]()
Great news, glad to hear it! Any feel for changes in the new FW?Well, oddly enough, I noticed that my firmware page showed ARM: V1.03.06 but DSP: V0.00.00.
I figured it was worth a try so I grabbed the firmware from the other thread, uploaded it to the inverter and rebooted. Sure enough, its back up and running.![]()
OMG, I just noticed my DSP was V0.00.00 this morning on Solarman. Checked it on the inverter and showing the same thing. Just updated the software two days ago. Still working though.Well, oddly enough, I noticed that my firmware page showed ARM: V1.03.06 but DSP: V0.00.00.

I decided to pass on this inverter due to your experience and lack of contact from Megarevo. TY for sharing everything.Did you folks try to update the firmware before it ended up being 0.0.0?
An update on my failed inverter. Crickets from Megarevo. Not one response.
However, the Alibaba supplier - LovSun - that provided me with the inverter, did step up to the plate and sent me another one. It did cost me an extra $600 for shipping. I am, however, back in business. So thank you LovSun and Tina but the jury on Megarevo is in for me.
What firmware? After V1.04.09 I did not have the freeze up anymore and the update to Solarman worked fine. The new one keeps freezing up. The screen stops updating even though the interface remains responsive. (sighs)
I’ve never done that. I have no venereal diseases either. Too many risks with prostitutes of all kinds.bought it on Alibaba
We are all different. Some of the best moments of my life involved taking risks.I’ve never done that. I have no venereal diseases either. Too many risks with prostitutes of all kinds.
I’m not against taking risks. We are all different. Some of the best moments of my life involved taking risks.
I had no other choice. At least not a choice with a price tag smaller than $6,000-8,000.I’m not against taking risks.
I’m an off-roader with a ‘modified’ jeep, I’ve fished in life-threatening gales on Champlain, and I’ve ridden my CB350F on 1970s tires almost to 100mph a couple of years back. All fun!
But I just ain’t never been able to bring myself to Ali, Baba.
I bought this same unit under the GSL brand. GSL has been responsive, but hadn't come up with any solutions to my problems (mainly firmware upgrade) for weeks, so my unit was down all that time. So, I don't want to jinx it but this is what is happening:
Lovsun surprised me. They are sending a new inverter. It will cost me about $600 shipping (assuming I can avoid tariffs being a replacement) but that's still better than $2,500 down the drain.
Megarevo never responded. Even the email contact who previously (very slowly) responded to technical inquiries has ignored multiple emails about the warranty. Same with their FB CS, WhatsApp and other e-mail contacts. I have not tried calling over the phone. Zero response.
I did get the replacement from the retailer thankfully.I bought this same unit under the GSL brand. GSL has been responsive, but hadn't come up with any solutions to my problems (mainly firmware upgrade) for weeks, so my unit was down all that time.
I wrote a review on Alibaba, since I paid through them, and it got their CEO's attention pretty quickly and they got me fixed within 24 hours. Not sure if that would help you or not.
Is this the same as R8KLNA with the 4 mppts? Looking at purchasing. Now, I wonderWith all its quirks, I have been successfully using an R8NA Megarevo hybrid inverter for about 6 months.
This morning it started throwing various errors - grid frequency, voltage, busbar voltage, iso, etc. I said Ok, let's reboot. Not the first time I had to do that.
During reboot, I hear a loud bang, and a small piece of plastic flies out of the case. It's dead now. It replaced a 6KW SUnpower inverter that ran for 9 years nonstop with the same solar array.
I played the lottery and lost. I put so much effort into this. Maybe someone can identify what component blew up.
It is. It really depends on how risk tolerant you are. Don't expect much support from the manufacturer. Is this the same as R8KLNA with the 4 mppts? Looking at purchasing. Now, I wonder
Well heck guess I will look at the mppsolar more. I like the 4 mppts perfect for my set up. Not perfect if it goes boom. I would use total off grid. Thank you for respondingIt is. It really depends on how risk tolerant you are. Don't expect much support from the manufacturer.
If you don't need a hybrid mode and the relatively rare ability to export from battery to grid, you have options.Well heck guess I will look at the mppsolar more. I like the 4 mppts perfect for my set up. Not perfect if it goes boom. I would use total off grid. Thank you for responding
Any suggestions. I am currently using growatt spf5000 es with transformer. If you don't need a hybrid mode and the relatively rare ability to export from battery to grid, you have options.
