Is it necessary to remove lithium batteries in the winter?

We have a travel trailer with 2x 200aH LiFePo batteries. I know they're not supposed to be charged when they're below 32 degrees F. I would rather not remove them while the trailer is in outdoor storage over the winter (in Illinois). Is it sufficient to perhaps discharge them to 40-50% level, and then simply disconnect them (with a switch) so they don't charge from solar? One of my panels (the factory-installed one) does not have a cutoff switch so I can't just shut the panels off.

If you are certain that throwing that switch cuts off all the parasitic draws - yes that’s really all that needs to happen. ( I would disconnect the cables from the battery).

Lifepo4 is fine stored in cold conditions, it’s charging in freezing conditions that causes damage

I’d charge to about 70-80% and then disconnect the terminals to ensure a parasitic load didn’t discharge it and cause damage that way

Cold weather preserves and extends battery life over their lifetime. Hot degrades and shortens.

So, storage and using them below low temp cut off is another story.
