When grid is switched on, the inverter switches off

Who can help me with the correct settings

When I switch on my Victron Quattro it starts up in inverter mode but after 15 seconds it switches to main and uses steam from the grid

During the day with solar power, it charges the batteries neatly and returns the rest to the grid, but in the evening when there is no solar power, it does not switch to inverter mode, but continues to use power from the grid.

If I manually turn off the grid, it does go to convert mode.

Installation:

Victron Quattro 24/3000/70 (firmware 500)

2 server rack lithium batteries
EG4 Life power4

SMA 5000

E112 grid meter

Victron smart shunt

Raspberry Venus ( firmware V 2.92) ESS installed.

PS. For this I used 4 AGM batteries and then everything worked okay

My PV is tied to the output of the Quattro and is 2500 watts
The EG4 has built-in BMS so I filled in the ESS assistant with lithium batteries with external BMS
the strange thing is if I manually switch off the grid, the inverter will go into inverter mode, but I need the grid if I demand too much power so that the grid can jump in
For this I used 4 AGM batteries and then everything worked okay, I replaced these for 2 200AMP EG4 Litium batteries, everything changed neatly with VE config to the lithium settings and since then Self cosumption no longer works

Have you actually configured the GX to work with the EG4 BMS in command? If not, this may be your issue. Lithium changes some behaviors. There are some unwritten defaults that have to be discovered it seems.

Why is that strange? That sounds like what's supposed to happen.

Have you tried reverting to AGM, setting voltages manually for your lithium, and disabling temperature compensation?

I use ESS self-consumption so if the solar power is too short it will switch to the battery and if it falls below the soc it will switch to the grid, but with me it will continue to use the grid and will not automatically switch to the batteries .

I have also tried the AGM settings but no result.

the batteries do not communicate with the GX I filled in at the ESS asistant battery with external BMS.
How do I get the batteries to communicate with the GX

Unfortunately, I don't know ESS very well at all. It seems it's missing a return to self-consumption mode criterion.

This makes no sense. If it worked when you had AGM batteries installed.

It's my understanding the EG4 uses CAN as well. I would expect there are many google reference for interfacing the two.

Can you post your VEConfig ESS assistant summary?

These are all settings from my Quattro and ESS

Nothing is obvious, but for this one:

I would indicate "change battery type..." as ESS will go through all your other settings and update them. You might need to override some of them after the assistant is complete.

What about the ESS settings in the GX?

So if I switch off the solar power, for example, it has to go to inverter mode, but it continues to use voltage from the grid
But when I turn off the mains voltage, it goes into inverter mode

Sorry i come from Curacao its a dutch island..

Try changing the mode to optimized without batterylife. batterylife is designed primarily around lead acid.

This will disable the Active SoC limit.

See if that works.

I think the Active SoC limit is inverted, i.e., you're saying you can never use more than 10% of your battery.

I have changed it to optimized without battery life but it remains the same as soon as I turn on grid voltage it immediately sees that as main and switches off the inverter
