I am hooking up a 24 V system to my RV. The panels are running fine and charging the battery, but as soon as I plug in my AC output wires, I get ERROR CODE 05. Any ideas?

Using the Model and possibly serial number of the device that is displaying, "error code 5', look it up and see what error code five means.

Maybe the convertor is malfunctioning "out of the box"? Maybe the load being applied to the convertor is too heavy and there's no code for overload condition. Can you contact the supplier or manufacturer of the DC to DC convertor?

Try connect to computer to see if it has more details about the error?

I had an error 5 when I tested the unit with Just a hair dryer.
If I had other loads on besides the dryer, it didn't give me an error.

A hair dryer has a diode in it for the "LOW" setting, so what its saying (Fault 05) is that there is an unbalanced load on it if you imagine a sine wave power graph, power would normally be used on both the upper and lower portion of the sine wave, but this hair dryer breaks those rules by inserting a diode as a cheap and easy way to limit the power to the heating element but only conducting power on half the sine wave. hence the fault code.

If you had some other loads on there too, along with the H Dryer , you may be able to get away with it, or use the dryer on FULL power.
