Hi guys, new to the forum. Big watcher of Wills channel. I purchased the lv2424 and 4-100 watts renogy panels and 3.7kw grade b byd battery bank...last night code 04 came on for low battery. Now this morning the all in one is not even turning on. Display is off and blank....suggestions?

The unit needs a minimum voltage to turn on.
Does the BYD have a voltage meter?
Are you connected to mains power?
What is your daily consumption?
How long have you been using it?

Hi thanks for the response. Its reads 23.5. I just connected it to main power thinking that same thing. Daily is less than 1kw but my kids left the fridge and lights on after a party. I have had it since May 2020.

I have had it on main power for some time now and volt meter on byd still reads 23.5....the mpp is not on yet

The manual says it only needs 17 volts to charge with solar.
How are your 100 watt panels connected?
Are they 2 series 2 parallel or 4 in series?
Disconnect the mains and solar input wires then disconnect the battery wires from the MPP.
Then reconnect the battery wires to the MPP to see if it powers up.

Did you buy it from Ian in Utah?

Ok I will try that.

2 panel in series then 2 parallel to get 24v. Been working since may..

I purchased from maximumsolar_us on Ebay.

2 100 watt panels in series is 43 Volts open circuit and about 36 volts maximum production. 24 volts only refers to the battery voltage.
You probably dont have breakers on the solar panel wires so dont shock yourself when you disconnect the wires.

Oh I thought each panel is 12v and putting 2 set in series and then in parallel would make 24v?

Luckly, yes I do have breakers on the PV wires.

OH NO! Here we go again Lol.

What is the voltage at the MPP from the battery. With the BYD turned on?
Good question and hopefully they have a multimeter but it has been working ok since May. And its a 24 volt battery.

Cool on the breakers as that will make it easy.
Nope, 12 volt panels are not 12 volts.
Look at the 100 watt panels spec label on the back or online.
12V 100 watt panels are 21.x Volts open circuit and about 18 volts working voltage.

Do you have the paper manual?

Lol u would think since they call them 12v panels they would be. I really appreciate your advice and guidance.

Ok disconnected all wires. Reconnected battery and it did not turn on. The byd display shows 23.5....

Read the voltage on the MPP wire connections from the battery.
Should be 23.5 Volts.
Your LV2424 has been running for over a month with no problems right?

I don't have a multimeter but will pick one up tomorrow. Yes been running perfectly since may.

If you are in the US and bought from Ian in Utah instead of from Taiwan you could be talking to an expert on the phone instead of posting to a noob like me. Lol
Cheaper too.
I just got the little MPP 12 volt 1000 watt AIO from Ian but have not run it coz UPS lost my battery cables.
When you first turned it on in May did you change the MPP settings for that BYD battery that is LIfePO4 right?
Hopefully someone here can help you out.
I dont think 23.5 volts is low voltage for your battery?

I understand. Yes made changes for battery. Hopefully someone can help. I spoke with the seller and they said they will exchange if I cannot figure out...

The screen only turns on if the inverter is on or its using solar/utility (gen) for charging. I wonder if you hit the battery BMS low voltage cutoff and it disconnected the battery. The mpp program low voltage cut off should be set higher than the bms.

Perhaps you have to reset the BMS? Like the above post mention, you should check to see if there is bat voltage at the cable ends that connect to the mpp

It can only be powered on by the batteries, not by AC and not by solar. So, if your battery bank voltage is too low it won't power on. You have to find another way to raise your battery voltage.

I've had this happen twice. I disconnect my bank from my inverter via a circuit breaker, reset any of my 12V batteries that require it if the BMS cut off, then use my 12V AC charger to pick up the ones that bottomed out. Once I get them high enough, I reconnect my LV2424. It then powers on. I can then complete charging with PV or AC through the LV2424 at 24V.

If for some reason you have 24V batteries instead of 12V batteries in series, you'll need a 24V charger.

She has a 24 volt BYD so she must have set the LVD at 23.5 volts.
Thats 2.937 volt per 8 cells.
Wouldn't a lower disconnect be better?
And to have the mains charger connected to keep the LVD from cutting off.
I doubt if she has a 24 volt charger.
I am no expert on these units especially 24 volt units.
