    New construction line set placement

Is it common for the lines to be on one side or the other of the inside unit? What is common for doing a rough in of line sets? Any special bracket? I don't want sheetrock guys screwing up the linesets. Do the lines need to go straight down or can they go over and then down? For example can the...

    New construction line set placement

Hello What do you all think about running mini split linesets inside the walls for new construction? I am about to do insulation and sheetrock and I am kicking around the idea of putting the linesets inside the wall. I could put them on the outside of the wall later but then I will have the trim...

Spinoff from house burning LFP vs AGM vs Lead Acid - Why not just run the older tried and true stuff?

They are expensive, but it was the only UL9540A testing I have seen that lists data of how the test was performed. There are other batteries that are UL9540A certified. Maybe some of those companies can provide that data too? Just for clarification UL9540A and UL9540 are too different things.

Spinoff from house burning LFP vs AGM vs Lead Acid - Why not just run the older tried and true stuff?

Here is the Fortress power UL9540A testing. According to the paperwork they abuse the batteries with very high temperatures to see what will happen. Having the right battery will definitely reduce your risk of fire...

    Cut Sheet Template?

Im my situation they just wanted cut sheets for every component listed on my single line diagram, no cut sheets for emt or wire, but I did include a cut sheet for my dc disconnects from my panels. Do you have a single line diagram?

    Cut Sheet Template?

I turned in a cut sheet that has technical specifications for every component when I recently applied for a permit. Sometimes they are called data sheets. I included one for every component listed on my single line diagram The permit was approved

    Un-qualified?

Expand everything in the ac2 settings to the widest range possible and see what happens, you can fine tune it if you get it to qualify. What is your charge rate set to? I'm not sure if the bonded neutral has a effect on qualifying, but it could be your problem that is why I asked.

Buchanan Splice Caps and other novel splicing methods.

They are expensive, if you have alot of connections it probably doesn't make sense.

Philips may have created the best LED bulb yet

I had a problem with the E12 Base Candlabra bulbs flickering when my washer was on the spin cycle. I tried a few different bulbs and finally bought the Phillips flicker free E12 base candleabra bulbs, they work great with no flicker.

Suggestions for whole house off-grid system?

You are looking at buying a solar system at a great time, it is way cheaper now then even 3 years ago You seem to be on the right track, it's better to plan for the future, loads usually go up not down.

Suggestions for whole house off-grid system?

I see people talk about the price of a monthly utility but not talk about the price to replace solar system components. If solar panels last 30 years, batteries last 20 years and your inverter last 15 years maybe you have a generator on site too? what is the cost to replace and maintain those...

XW PRO AGS warm up cycle

AC2 reconnect is only for the delay of connection after power qualification, it does not set the time the generator cools down after power disconnection from the generator. Ags cool down time is configurable through the SCP in the CFG gen menu. Here is the ags manual

    the rapidly changing inverter landscape

Yes that makes sense, Bogging the saw down or binding it to a stop will be a longer duration of heavy load then saw start up.

    the rapidly changing inverter landscape

I agree they aren't the same, a fully charged compressor will take alot of juice to start. Im my experience cutting bigger dimension wood with a saw can create friction and the spin up doesn't really matter, especially if you cut through a knot. When you hear the saw bog down you are pulling max...

    the rapidly changing inverter landscape

I have a friend that replaced a old outback system with Solark, the old system was 2 3648 watt outback inverters, ran 2 well pumps, a pressure pump and everything in the house just fine. Replaced with a Solark 12k and 28kwh of lithium batteries with a 8 foot section of 4/0 battery cable. With...

    the rapidly changing inverter landscape

I have a 15 year old Magnum 4448 inverter, built a whole house with it, never died but it did shut off from overheating many times.

    the rapidly changing inverter landscape

It also depends on what you are cutting with a chop saw, i want to see someone try cutting a 4x6 with a chop saw on a HF inverter.

    Schneider XW Pro DIY Resources

I purchased my XW PRo from Zonna, through a installer, he got wholesale and marked it up a little, I liked that they repair inverters, that is a good resource to have. My second choice was NAZ This was the deal that I saw, very tempting

My system is working great also, I upgraded from a older Magnum inverter so the technology took some reading and videos to understand, but I am very happy with my Schneider system. I see some good deals on XW pro right now 👀

It's good to have the option to get a permit if needed someday. I see alot of people say they will never get a permit, but unfortunately sometimes the AHJ forces you to get a permit or tear out your system
