    AOCPower 200Ah LiFePO4?

just my 2 cents, but I do like ACOPower as a company. Have used them for pv panels many times. Straight shooters and very good customer service.

    BigBattery.com 48V LAMA - LiFePO4-115Ah-5.3kWh

The BMS's on the Kong Elite ae crap as well. They immediately started reading completely inaccurate data. BB advised that they loaded the wrong software on the units. STAY AWAY FROM BIG BATTERY. This company is NOT on the up and up. Their warranty, customer service and quality of unit...

Big Battery power Block 170 12v

Is it possible I wonder to start a pinned thread of everyone who is experiencing issue with big battery? People should stay far away. Thanks for the replies! @BigBattery Tech Support I dare you guys to step up to your obligation of service. 10 year warranties don't mean squat if you guys never...

Big Battery power Block 170 12v

I am finding Big Battery to be waste of time and money. I will start my own thread about this. The units are shoddy and poorly manufactured. Mine came with the wrong software on BMS. They constantly shut down and need to be disassembled to deduce a problem. @lifecycle Were you contacted...

Big Battery 24LifePo4 Powerwall Gen 2 Experience?

Those are pretty horrible units if that is what the numbers are. Nothing like I live with. Good Luck!

Big Battery 24LifePo4 Powerwall Gen 2 Experience?

if you are in Tuscon, evap cooling might be something to investigate if haven't already. DC units are available that take very little power. I realize this does not address used cells, but is a huge power saving alternative.

Did I fry $800 worth of batteries?

Hi Gunutz, that's a bummer. Were you able to confirm the panels were providing charge to the charge controller before leaving the site? Connections all good and tight also? Does the EPEver have the MT-50 external interface for viewing and parameter setup of the system? The MT-50 as well as...

Advice for lifepo4 in very hot temperatures.

I use a smart plug on my fridge/freezer. In very hot temps, it creates a great deal of moisture as it is turning on and off more; now this is also only on the walls where the coils run. Very dry and hot conditions. Winter not so much issue.

    Why Bother!? $$$OffGrid$$$

for example, to run copper from the power line pole closest to my property, it would be as much as my pv system cost that powers the entire ranch. The power company says it is my responsibility to pay that. Blackouts are commonplace for days at a time, in the peak of summer, when we reach130F...

Advice for lifepo4 in very hot temperatures.

I live your conditions as well. These are things we do for temperature regulation for my SLA batteries to stay below 27C. 1. you could rather than burying the shed, raise the level of the earth around it. Ram packed earth in tires make an incredible insulated wall; like earthship housing. 2...

    12v/24v lights..?

I use outside motion detection lights that are 24v specifically for a purpose. Living in Death Valley, my evap cooler has it's own solar setup and is 24v. I prefer that the batteries do something in the winter and not stay dormant but not get worked too hard, after the heat goes and the cooler...

Tracer4215BN Controller - PV does not light when Solar Array connected

great work! Multimeter saves/checks are important to get used to as habit, I found, even when I know I was correct in wiring. Also I made it my SOP to always commission and bypass the system in the same order. Battery -->CC-->PV-->LOAD and reverse that order to bypass; an important habit to...

    Solar panel not putting out

I realized a similar issue on 2x 100w panels that are moved around often at home, disconnecting and reconnecting the MC4 plugs. Two of 10 panels have very loose wring connections, that are pulling free from the crimp inside the MC4. Hard to see that the crimp is weak and the wire has pulled...

    Q Cells Q.PEAK-DUO-L-G8.2-420

with the limited roof space, as you mentioned, the panels are 4'x6'(+- an inch) and about 45lbs. I cannot find a pic of the Prism roof from the top down view. Have a look for clearance around vents and roof ecoutrements. The higher voltage is what I was shopping for as I have a 48v system...

500 Watt Solar panels in the US?

I have just received an email that the 395w LG2.5 are .42USD$ a watt. Located in north Los Angeles. I would like to purchase another dozen. They are BIG, 4ftx6ft. I have them ground mounted at present to power my 1 acre property, for an Outback Solar 5kW system (well really, just under 5kW)...

Don't throw away pv panels that have cracked glass! Still useful!

I've always been surprised at how well they still function. I sealed with this 2 years ago. They aren't panels I would use for the main system, just on demand functions like DC attic fans.

    Broken panel repairs etc

I used this product on 2 of my 'revives', 100w panels so the size is standard 40x26 frame. As a 2 part resin goes, it did the job and covered both with an ounce to spare going corner to corner. I would think if I really went thin it might do 3 panels. Clarity is still good has not yellowed...

    DC breaker

To OP, no do not use that type breaker you showed from the panels to the CC. I stick with Midnight Solar personally for years now, though yes Schnieder are solid agreed. I would venture to say it is standard practice, safer and easier to manage a solar system when breakers are in place from...

Outback Flexmax 80A Tripping Battery Breaker

Yes all the numbers are good, thanks for the ISC, I was just curious. That breaker has always kept my attention as well on my own system. I have read mixed ideas as to it's voracity, fingers crossed mine is flowing power ok. Thanks.

Don't throw away pv panels that have cracked glass! Still useful!

Does anyone else have pv panels that are cracked/shattered that are still in use? I have a 2x 12v/100w and 1x 48v/390w that all still give great power output with nominal drops. We use them for DC loads across the property, on demand for fans mostly. When I saw Will charging the Bluetti...

Outback Flexmax 80A Tripping Battery Breaker

I've been dealing with calculation for the past weeks. How did you end up Manny? Is everything running well? I use the same breaker, the 80A. Question, was there a 125% factor into the system sizing when the calculations were made? I see a little over run with the numbers there, I think...

500 Watt Solar panels in the US?

Hi all, I recently purchased the LG2.5 Q Peak Duo 48v panels rated at 390w, class A. They go up to 395w version also. These are mono half cells 6x24, meaning they are 72 cells split in half for efficiency in extreme heat, as I understand. So far these panels are performing very well. They...
