    MaxxFan Beeping when alternator charging

Hi There, I'm having an interesting "problem". My maxxfan beeps when my alternator charging kicks in. I have the Renogy DC-DC charger with MPPT, so it takes in my solar and my alternator and charges my house batteries. My fan works fine, but I've noticed that if my car is on (and charging my...

    System has some issues

Mike got the problem correct. My BMV was saying my batteries were 100% when in reality they were far below that. I did a slow charge with an actual battery charger until it was full and now the voltage is reasonable. I can't speak to the rest of your issues because honestly, I don't know. My...

    System has some issues

The charge controller doesn't have an off. I'd just have to disconnect all of the connections.

I didn't understand any of that

    System has some issues

My batteries are at 11.8v according to dmm. I'm trying to see if my solar panels will charge the batteries since it's a really sunny day today. I checked the voltage coming in from my solar panels and it's 18v from the solar cable into the charge controller. Is that normal? There are 3 100 watt...

    System has some issues

? Good because I can't charge them tonight. I'll try again in the morning. Hopefully can get this figured out before my trip Thursday morning.

    System has some issues

How long at 11.7 volts until my batteries are damaged? Perhaps they are already damaged. I can't imagine how it's gotten to that low of volts, honestly.

    System has some issues

Alternatively, I can plug in to shore power with my inverter. That will be fine, right?

    System has some issues

Currently charging with a slow charge at 6amps. I don't understand why the voltage is so low, but everything says the battery is full.

    No, I removed it.

    System has some issues

Yeah, that's the charge controller. It has lights that say what is happening. Like solar charging, battery state, and alternator charging. I have a multimeter, but like I said, I think it's. Token because it's saying 7 for my car battery. I have the victron 712 smart.

    System has some issues

I can't send a link because I'm on my phone at a garage and I barely have service. But you can find the manual by googling like this.

    System has some issues

I have AGM batteries. The starter battery reads at like 7, but I think this reader is broken. Nothing else at the bottom of the display except relay state open. Can I charge the batteries while everything is hooked up?

Ok, ran a 620 watt drill and here's what it said.

    System has some issues

It's a lead acid battery. I got an alarm yesterday on my inverter that signaled low voltage. Before that, everything was working pretty well. Not sure what changed. I did use maybe a lot of power with a space heater the day before. Which I don't have with me now. Looking for something with more...

    System has some issues

I need you to break it down more. So, you want me to disconnect the batteries from everything and then tell you the voltage of the batteries?

    System has some issues

This is since I flipped the wires on the victron shunt.

    System has some issues

I think you're right! I'm going to turn it around.

    System has some issues

This is with the wire not attached to alternator. The inverter is off. There are dc loads attached (fan, lights, usb charger), but none of them are running. My victron is only attached with the shunt to the main house battery bank. Maybe that's why it says starter battery is .3v? This is with...

    System has some issues

it keeps losing power even though nothing is on. The inverter is on, but nothing is drawing power from it.

    System has some issues

When the starter battery is connected and I turn the car on, the used watts goes up to 400 from 40 on my victron bmv, showing that the output is more watts. Is that normal?

Kill switch doesn't turn off all power

Does the charge controller not need to be directly connected to the battery?

Kill switch doesn't turn off all power

Thanks! I'm going to disconnect everything from the charge controller and then rewire directly to the battery and then plug in the solar panels again.

    System has some issues

My batteries are 4 100 ah SLA batteries. They are connected to the batteries through a renogy 50amp charge controller. Does anyone know someone who consults in this via video chat?
  27. B

    System has some issues

I think it's drawing power because my bmv shows loss of power when the car is on.

    System has some issues

Hi friends, It has become apparent that I need some actual real help on my solar electrical system and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find a consultant or something who will take a look at my system and tell me how to fix it, maybe a video chat showing what I have currently connected...

Kill switch doesn't turn off all power

gotcha. I took the extra (-) cable out. Do you know the proper way to incorporate a switch that will turn off all power?

Kill switch doesn't turn off all power

Also, is the charge controller even charging my batteries? For some reason, my battery voltage is only 11.7 and my inverter alarms and my charge controller signals that there is low voltage when I try to connect loads.

Kill switch doesn't turn off all power

so my solar charger is going up through fuse and then coming out to the other side and feeding my loads? Is there any way to kill all of the power with the pieces I have?
