Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 - Almost New

Sure, but that doesn’t drop the price all that much. Call it $225. That’s still about $100 off retail.

Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 - Almost New

I bought this for my RV install late last year. 100 volt, 50 amp. Connects to Victron phone/ipad app via Bluetooth. I have recently decided to add a few more solar panels, so I had to upgrade to a higher amperage charge controller. This unit was installed and run for a couple months. Will...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Successful test last night. Wired the two pads in series and applied 24V from a bench supply. Current draw was 1A, as expected. Took over 10 minutes to notice any temp increase. After about 1 hour, top surface had reached 92°F. This was in open air - I don’t expect it to get that hot with...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Got my prototype heating pad built today. The footprint of my battery packs is about 13.5" x 8.5", so that's the size of the heating assembly. Used those same 12V 1A "hive heaters" from Amazon, two per assembly. They have a bump where the wires attach: Didn't want those bumps to get...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

You've pretty much got it. I wanted to monitor each pack separately to narrow things down in case of a bad cell or something similar. The Simarine controller lets you monitor them separately and also sum them to a single value. So they show up as "Battery A", "B", and "C", and the summed...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

A little tighter than it should have been! All the components were laid out just fine - the problems came when I tried to make 1/0 cable make a tight bend. It all worked out, but I would have made it a bit larger if I had to do it again. Here's the fun part... I built this in my garage and...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Frame is aluminum, but there is double-stick foam tape between it and the cells. Also between each cell. You can see the foam tape as white lines here:

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

I have thought about it, but maybe I will reconsider. The heater vent that runs into the pass-thru area is in the middle of my electronics panel - had to cut a hole to let the warm air pass though: Adding ductwork from that vent would be difficult - it's just a plastic grille. My assembled...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

That’s the job of the BMS. I am using the Overkill 8 Cell model, and you can set both temp for charging cutoff and for resumption. So, right now, the low temp disconnect is set to 32°F and the reconnect is 37°F. The heaters will come on at 35° as long as there is amperage from solar. There...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Yes, a box to contain the heat likely helps. I didn’t do that because the pass-thru space in this RV is heated. Didn’t want to insulate from the heat. Of course the heater only runs when we are in it. Thus the heater pad option for when it is not occupied and the main RV heater is off...

LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Up here in New Hampshire, we haven't had the both sun out and temp above 32ºF at the same time for weeks. Thinking about possible heating solutions after reading this entire thread. Here is my plan... For each battery pack (24V, 8 x 176Ah cells), place a sheet of 1/4" aluminum underneath...

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

Will send PM with shipping costs. 4 cells together (in series) will give you 120 Ah at 12V nominal (actually 14.6 when charged to 100%). Place two packs like that in parallel and you get 240 Ah at 12V. Another option is to build an 8 cell pack giving 120 Ah at 24V. It works out to the same...

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

Sounds familiar. I ordered in late Sept. Filed dispute when they didn't ship and couldn't give me a tracking number, then they appeared on my doorstep in Feb. I will figure out the price for 16 and DM you.

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

FYI - 2 Sold, 22 Available. Of those 22, 20 are in perfect, new condition. The other 2 are OK, but have some marks on the terminals since I accidentally arc'd them for a fraction of a second while checking how they would fit in a box for shipping! I will hold on to those two and only sell...

Just checked. US Postal service limit is 100Wh or 5 lbs per package. UPS ground will be fine.

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

Nor sure. If I have a couple left over, I will find a use. :) If you direct message me your zip code, I will get an estimate. Pretty sure I can fit two cells into a flat rate priority mail box, just not sure they will allow Lithium cells to be shipped that way. Otherwise UPS might be cheapest.

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

No, shipping not included. I priced out a couple options for people who DM'd me. Looks like USPS is the best rate. If you include a zip code and how many you want, I can calculate shipping. For reference, a box of 8 cells is just under 53 lbs, and USPS halfway across the country is about...

    120Ah LiFePO4 cells for sale

I ordered these through AliExpress for an RV install. Good company that sells new, grade A cells, but they are a bit logistics challenged. Ordered in late September, just got them now in nearly February. Somewhere during that time, I wanted to move forward and ordered cells from a different...

    C/rating for Generic Chinese Cells

Not 20C, but 20/C, which would be 0.05C. I.e., the rate needed to drain the battery over 20 hours. Likewise, C/10 is 0.1C and C/5 is 0.2C. But I think you are right - it doesn't really matter here and I can put the same value in all three slots. Thanks!

    C/rating for Generic Chinese Cells

I am building a 24V 315Ah system for an RV using LiFePO4 cells like these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001112767691.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.3.1aa073d3kXsUre The battery monitor I plan to install asks for the C/20, C/10. and C/5 capacities in it's setup software. The documentation...
