Battery extension - how to parallel cells & battery backup

Hi everyone, Situation: I am currently working on extending my 16s 280Ah system. The current setup is supervised by a Batrium which controls the main relay and cooling, pre-charge control and the main fuses (big old Siemens NH 160A) are operated manually and the entire battery bank is...

    BMS for Sunny Island 6048

Actually, let me amend that statement slightly: I can recommend the combination, but if you want to extend your battery at a later point you will not have a problem doing so, but additional cell monitors (depending on the Batrium that you are using) will be somewhat expensive.

    BMS for Sunny Island 6048

I have a Natrium WatchMon 4 running with a Sunny Island 6.0-11H without any problems for almost three years now. I don't know anything about/ have never experienced shunt problems frequently running 100A on it. I can definitely recommend that combination!

Voltage difference terminal - bus bar, potential galvanic corrosion

Yes, shortly after writing the post I fixed the problem (at least at hasn't reoccurred since then). I removed all busbars, bolts and washers and cleaned them and the cell terminals thoroughly. For the busbars, botls and washers I first used a steel sponge (do not do this on the terminals - the...

Voltage difference terminal - bus bar, potential galvanic corrosion

Dear Community, I have run into the problem of the terminal voltages differing from the bus bar voltage. To give you some background on my setup: I have a 16s Lishen 272Ah (280Ah) system with batteries from Shenzhen Basen. As a sidenote: They tested between 282 and 287Ah. My system is...

Benchtop Power Supply for under $100.

So the way these things work electronically is, that they are always in CV mode unless they get pulled into CC mode. If you have the one with just the voltage adjustment nob and set it to 3.65V on an empty LiFePO4 battery it will deliver its maximum current (as the voltage gets pulled down by...

    2nd Gen Powerwall/ 280 (272Ah) LiFePO4 16s 48V

Skip this if you're only interested in the new system. ******** I am new to this forum so I'll take a quick second to talk about my 1st Gen system. Right now I have a 9.8kWp PV System with an 8kWh DIY Powerwall consisting of 18650 cells. It runs as a grid-tied self-consumption optimizing...
