22kWh/month comes out as roughly 30 watt constant draw. 700 Watt hours a day. That doesn't seem excessive to me. By the way. I can't remember the reading from my kill-a-watt, but I'm pretty sure that the Growatt AIO's draw several watt's(maybe half of your monthly reading) in pass-through mode.

If you are using a USB CABLE from the growatt to the RPi you may have to set the serial port to 9600baud. I seem to remember that being stated in the manual for my SPF-3000TL inverter. Probably the same for other growatt products. Might also just be the serial port speed for their rs485...

You could change your Growatt charge priorities to where it will charge off solar and AC and only connect the AC to the inverter when you want to use it to charge. I sometimes do this with mine using one of these...

I'd bet the hardest part of that proposal would be getting the information from the EV. But I may be wrong. It could be as simple as plugging in a Bluetooth adapter into the ODB2 port assuming EV's will continue to have them.
