Haven't seen that one yet. I can't help on that. I can only say go through this thread and see if any of what we have posted along the way works. If you can't find something I would Contact Pierre @ Solar Assistant. He's pretty responsive.

I have two HW Ver. 3 ‘s with SW Ver. 4.2.5 and one with SW Ver. 4.2.1 and one HW Ver. 6.X with SW Ver. 6.1.0S. I only have one hooked up at the moment (HWV3/SWV4.2.1) and have plans soon to get the others connected. I will have updates on this.

So why is it you think that I’m able to use the “USB to JBD RS485” protocol/code and the newer versions (I think hardware 6 up) use the “USB to JK RS485”? Is it that baudrate effecting it (I can’t imagine so)?

Does the hardware protocol change/convert the code also or does it just change the signal and path? I’m so confused as to why JK decided to change the code so much. It seems to not help developers like Pierre simplify connection.

The BMS you show is the newer/newest version with the heat output. Those seem to be the ones that work using the “USB to JK RS485” protocol. I would like to know how you make out using direct TTL adapter! Keep us updated please!

Make sure you have a good power supply on the RPi. Triple check all connections!

Maybe time to check into those communication boards? Have you tried updating firmware on the inverter?

Can you let us know what exact BMS's you are using, hardware, and firmware for data base thanks. Pierre at Solar Assistant did note "basic info". Perhaps he will work on cell voltages and setting configuration in the future!?

I’m asking because I would have liked to purchase one of the 48v models, toss my current BMS setup, and wire in my existing battery. However it would not make sense to really do that in my opinion unless I was able to reconfigure the battery size in the BMS. Thank you for the reply @jberger!

Just connect to the two center wires to the BMS plug side and your rx tx of the TTL adapter. Use the photo for reference on post #23 . I will also input this photo. Can’t remember where I got it from but props to whomever it belongs to (#don’t sue me bro) It’s nice to see Pierre is working on it!

You could open the thing up desolder the header and just solder a normal JST pigtail to the board. NO? You may also find label for pinout too.. I thought I saw somewhere that the GPS 4 pin plug is RS485 #1 though, even on that newer model?
