Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

After long delays in the system installation I have finally top balanced the battery pack of 16 EVE 230AH LiFePO4 (LFP) 3.2V Cells Battery (New Version, Fully Matched and Batched)--Genuine Grade A successfully and now installing the system as 2P8S to the RV. The Inverter MPPSolar 3024GK is...

And as a sequel question, I have a set of 16 230 Ah cells matched and batched from Amy which have been in my warm garage for about 18 months now. Do I need to top balance them before the installation?

After almost two years of building and also having a Master of Engineering degree in the same time it is now time to install the battery in 2P8S configuration. My space in the vehicle requires the cells to be installed to 2 x 8 cell rows which makes the setup almost square-shaped. With the...

I am planning to install MPPSolar 3024GK to my vehicle with LiFePo4 2P8S configuration. Is there a function which can properly follow the battery charge and level on that inverter or do I need a separate monitoring device?

    Top Balancing "How to"

The busbars would be nice, although they seem to be hard to find here in Northern Europe. Is there any way to make them by myself? Does ordinary copper or steel do?

    Top Balancing "How to"

Indeed, I have a 3000W 24V solar MPPT inverter and 1850W of solar panels on the roof. I have also 1800 W 24V ordinary inverter to run some devices separately which I was planning to install to the same LiFePo4. Would this total out as too big set-up?

    Top Balancing "How to"

I am working with 16 pcs of LiFePo4 batteries which will go to 2P8S config in a 24V system. The cells are Eve 230Ah models. Which kind of busbars I do need? I have to install the set probably to two times 8 cell rows in order to fit it in the vehicle.

    Top Balancing "How to"

How do you know if the busbars are factory or heavy-duty? Mine are two metals stacked with green shrinking plastic sock, 0,8 mm thick x 20 mm wide apiece, totals 1,6 mm x 20 mm.

8S BMS for LiFePo4 with wifi?

    Is there available any Wifi-BMSes?

    Top Balancing "How to"

Just to be on the safe side, I probably would have to get a power source for top balancing. On that Will Prowse video: he top balances 16 LiFePo4 cells with cheap Amazon regulated PSU. Since I am acting with 24V bus systems, I would like to use the same PSU for testing bus equipment also...

    Top Balancing "How to"

Had a set of 16 230Ah EVE cells matched and batched from Amy Wan about a month ago. Do I have to top balance them or are they good to go? Do I have to top balance them eventually?

    Help decoding JBD BMS instructions

Just received my 300 amp Jiabaida with 16 pcs of LiFePo4 cells. I´m about to build 8S and 24V system from them. Do these instructions also apply on this device? I figured out it´s configurable from 7 to 20 cells with the short circuit method described above? I think the bluetooth is included on...

Next phase on this project: What would be the best option to charge LiFePo4 bank from the RV engine generator while driving? I guess just connecting the wires would not do, should there be some more sophisticated device in between?

Does anyone have an idea, have the Daly engineers succeeded to make the low temp cutoff working?

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

Good lord, this is really complicated. I thought the welding for stainless steel chassis would be the issue, but modern power electronics welding machine and automatic mask proved easy for a man without any significant welding experience. Perhaps I'll just take those 16 cells, a 300 amp BMS and...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

Well, I have 4800W of inverters in total so that would count 200 Amps without safety deductions in total. Could 2 x 150 amps of BMS do? I have 5 x 370 W panels on the roof in one series vith VoC of 38V each. The MPPSolar 3024GK can handle 500V if I got it right.

After a careful consideration I have become conviced that the 24V system would serve me better in total with following factors: Bus has 24V system integrated so it goes in smoothly with any of the present equipment needed to have power from the battery. Battery packs are expandable in series...

I became worried for 48V systems to be split-phase which would cause some kind of safety hazard with utility power source from house wall`of which I read from this forum. Is this because You can plug the house side of the cord any of the two ways and the phase and neutral lines mix up?

The current setup would have 230Ah cells. In case I would like to expand the system with another set of cells, do they have to be same Ah and somehow matched?

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

I guess there are no objection to use "too large" BMS anywhere, putting a 250A thing to handle 150A load works just fine. In case of parallel battery packs, do the BMSes need to be similar? Considering the two MPPSolars in parallel mentioned on previous post, should I have also 10 panels (5...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

Indeed. Damned, this is positively hard, too much of viable options :) On the other hand, 24V would serve the 24V couch system excellently and I could use either 2 or 3 battery packs in parallel. I already have 1800W inverter which could also couple to the batteries parallel to the 3024GK. On...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

These are good advice, good to see fellow Finns here from two latitudes souther ?. Since the vehicle came with one 24V 1800W inverter, I guess it would be wise to leave it as it was - in the lead-acid start battery just for a reserve equipment. If the LiFePo4 happens to fail. Just crossed my...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

The forementioned Amy informed me there is JDB BMS for 24V in 8S / 300 amps config. This could be viable option in case of 24V system.

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

I am aware of this. I was just figuring out that the 5048GK vs 3024GK price is 180USD and the BMS are also in few of ten of dollars. I could use thinner wiring and besides the power would be same from the amount of batteries (460Ah 24V vs 230Ah 48V?) I already have hot spares for heating...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

With 5048GK and 16 cells in simple 48V series with 16S and 200 amps BMS this should work?

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

I became interested of the 48V option and found out I could acquire the MPPSolar 5048GK. Would the 16-cell LiFePo4-option and 16S 100 amp BMS work nicely on this? I suppose I could easily acquire also 48/24V transformer for a couple of home appliances.

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

I would like to use 24V because all of the appliances in the bus and also caravan home appliances work with 24V. Besides the bus came with high-quality 24V inverter which I will use to drive air-source heat pump to heat and cool the bus. I figure You have no clue of the weather conditions here...

I found significant amount of batteries from Alibaba. Part of the sellers mention they will balance the cells before shipping. Does this sound legit? I could not find an answer for question about low-temp cut-off in Daly equipment which are available here in Europe.

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

Ach so, now I see. I figured out this for some reason otherwise, but this is clear. My nick has nothing to do with amount of Capra aegagrus hircus in Northern Finland. If other battery bank fails or somehow disconnects from the inverter, does it cause the remaining one to overload over 100...

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

I guess I have to look for another BMS. Since I live 130 miles south from polar circle, I would like to have also the low temp cut off in BMS. Any potential suggestions?

Newcomer planning a solar power equipment to somewhat large RV

If I would have the 3000W inverter 3024GK and I would have the 100 Amps Overkill 8S BMS device, would I have trouble in using the 3000W inverter? Is there a limitation of 2400W available power in 100 Amps BMS or have I misunderstood this issue?
