24v to 12v: who makes the most reliable converter?

You’re correct. That was horribly written by me. I have all my solar equipment, I don’t have the devices that will be powered by it. IE fridge, fans etc.

24v to 12v: who makes the most reliable converter?

I want to run a 12v fridge, some fans and led lights. I don’t have specific power requirements as I haven’t built it yet so I am guessing. I have all my equipment, just haven’t started, I have 2x206ah SOK at 24v. Max draw is 100a.

24v to 12v: who makes the most reliable converter?

Funnily enough, this is what’s swimming around my Amazon Shopping Cart. I do think this is the route I’m leaning towards.

24v to 12v: who makes the most reliable converter?

I have followed a lot of advice from various people. My buying decisions have been based on recommendation but some have been fairly spontaneous. When it comes to the 24v to 12v buck I went with an Amazon special recommended on Will Prowse‘s webpage. Is there a better option? Victron maybe...

I really appreciate it. So one last question (for now lol). The Breaker at the SCC, considering the SCC is a 150/70 and max charge will be set at 40a, should I keep the 80a breaker to protect the SCC or reduce it to 50a to protect the BMS?

    Critique my upcoming trailer build

Will the victron allow me to set the max charging rate in the app? That would allow me to keep the current SCC and not have to return and rebuy.

    Critique my upcoming trailer build

So if My calculations are accurate, the 150/45 will cap out the potential max amps out to 45a? The potential max amps out of my current SCC would be 58.46a. This wouldn’t overdrive the 150/45 SCC and the 100/50? I am starting to get the idea that Victrons SCC naming are max voltage In / max amps...

    Critique my upcoming trailer build

I thought i would give it a bit of future expansion capacity but if you think I’m going to over cook things then by all means I will change it. I haven’t opened any items yet so they are all returnable. Do you think 1200w is too much or could I be wiring this differently to be more efficient...

As alway, you’re a wealth of information. I will size my fuses accordingly. Back to Amazon I go lol.

    Critique my upcoming trailer build

No it wasn’t actually. I thought I had caught the omission before anyone else did Lol. I am still learning, when you say the SOK is rated for 100a. What do you mean? Is that max discharge amperage? And they will only charge at 50a max? Regardless of multiple batteries and the wiring config? Is...

There is an 80amp breaker between the CC and the bus bar. Would I need an additional? Also, the pictures, is this the Lynx Distributor? thanks!

Good morning, can you guys take a look at this very rough mspaint schematic of the system I’m intending to install on my cargo trailer? I have most of the parts already. 2 x 206ah SOK LiFepro4 batteries in series for 24v. 300a ANL on the positive. Battery disconnect switch on the negative (Or...

    Fusing Individual Arrays

I am using the Rich Solar 200w 12v panels. 6 to be exact for a total of 1200w. They will be wired in 3S2P. Each sting will produce the 9.8a but the strings when parallel will be 19.6a exceeding the individual panels 15a max fuse rating at the combiner which I was going to use an MC4 combiner...

Perfect! I will get one on order. Batteries arrive tomorrow. As far as panels go, is there any brand you would recommend or recommend against? I’ve been leaning towards Rich Solar 200w 24v. Need to figure out SCC size from there. still haven’t really had much time to put this system together in...

Well, I bought 2 x SOK 206ah batteries. I figured while they were in stock I should jump on them. Now to figure out the rest of the system around them.

This Solar Thing is Quite Exciting!

I really appreciate the insight. I will leave the battery for the trailer and the solar will be autonomous. I will only use the large AC if hooked to shore power. Thanks for your contribution.

This Solar Thing is Quite Exciting!

Wow, this sounds very much like what I’m thinking. I was certainly debating over 12v vs 24v. What made the decision for you to go 24v? Would you recommend that for me? The trailer is a camping / retreat trailer. Will mostly be for weekend mountain camping but will also be an emergency rig. I...
