Quick question... What happens if you use too thin gauge of cables for your panels-to-charge controller run? Will they melt or burn up? I'm trying to decide between 10 gauge or 8 gauge. Thanks!

Is there anything wrong with using a thicker than necessary cable? For example, say I only need 14 gauge between my panels and charge controller. Would it be OK to use 10 gauge?
