Good point about snow losses in PVWatts. The default settings is zero (under systems losses), but if the panels get covered with snow for days or weeks, it must become significant. We have seen impressive spikes in bifacial output after a fresh snow in winter. So it makes sense that...

Very impressive re-engineering! What kind of steel is that for the strongbacks you added? Since the panels are bifacial, it makes sense to not shade the backsides if possible. Looks like your setup could be engineered to accomplish that. I looked, and was unable to find a ground mount system...

APSystems now has a DIY option that allows both the app and website. I don't know if it provides full functionality, but it appears to. They have also responded to Tech Support questions. In my recent experience, I consider APSystems to be DIY friendly!

Thanks for the feedback....sorry for the slow reply. I'm also looking at APSystems microinverters...these are another option. Yes with those big panels the 500W inverter is probably the way to go...a 300W would clip like crazy.

I think the Nuance Osprey system is a good option...that's what we're using for our DIY project. It is easy to assemble, and as you mentioned it does not require concrete or ground screws.
