    Importing Eve Cells into Australia

Why don’t you split them into two packs of 8 it may cost you a little more but will reduce costs of port collection.

Small DIY or plug n play ( Australia)

Sry but I just saw the photos of your existing system. If it is just the batteries that have failed then why don’t you just replace the AGM’s plus add a few extras. Is that a 12v or 24v system that is currently installed? The system will probably run your washing machine, and probably your...

Small DIY or plug n play ( Australia)

Many will say don’t go 12v with a 3000W but the reality is how much power do you want to draw at any one time. You always make allowances for inefficiencies and that is why I bought a 3000W inverter. The biggest appliance I have run is a 2400W kettle which takes a few minutes and did not reach...

Small DIY or plug n play ( Australia)

If I were to be buying a LiFePO4 battery then Aussie batteries would be my choice but I have built my own by buying 280Ah cells and a BMS from from China. Amy has a good reputation although you do pay a little more but you can also buy your BMS from her which saves on postage costs...

Small DIY or plug n play ( Australia)

Hi Luke, I’m up at Nelson Bay. I read a lot of Wattsmatter’s posts as he has a fantastic setup. You have a number of options but to be honest I wouldn’t bother with the Bluetti. As pointed out you can buy a 200Ah battery from a 4WD store, which wouldn’t be my first choice , but...

    Victron BMV-712 Smart Battery monitor

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m thinking that you don’t actually have the shunt or looked at it and are just reading he manual. I’m more than happy to help you. The shunt has a battery side and a load side. There are two 10mm terminals on the shunt. They are the big brass bolts on either...

    LiFePO4 won't charge - BMS issue ?

Buy yourself a bench power supply, put your cells in parrallel, connect it up and wait :). And I mean wait! You will think it isn’t working. You will want to turn knobs. You will want to play with wires but nooooooo! Don’t touch a thing, just wait! Then the magic happens :ROFLMAO:.

    DIY Powerwall

Hi Batty I think @wattmatters will be able to help you regarding the regulations. I can’t understand why people install Tesla Powerwalls when you can just install the largest solar system possible and sell back to the grid to offset the cost of any electricity you use from the grid. It would...

Scroll through the Parameter settings and I think it is the last one when you can turn charging and discharging on or off.

    Battery connections

Read about a case where someone working on a car battery had a spanner in his hand whilst doing up a terminal connection. He was wearing a ring which touched the other terminal and provided the circuit through the scanner to the other terminal. If I recall he lost at least one finger.

    Choosing the right ring terminal

If you are generating enough heat at the lug connection to melt solder (between 400°F / 200°C and 700°F / 370°C) then I would suggest that you have a very major problem.

    Choosing the right ring terminal

Have you thought about putting a little solder in to fill up any gaps?

Help with fuse size for inverter?

Don’t even think about buying it! Everything about the advert is wrong so buyer beware. Firstly as pointed out it says 4000W when it isn’t. The inverter is nowhere near the size a 4000W inverter needs to be. the cables shown to the inverter are nowhere near the size required for 4000W. The...

    Choosing the right ring terminal

On the top one the wire stands are still poking through so I would suggest you have trimmed the insulation back a little far. Put some heat shrink on them and it makes it nice and neat but otherwise it doesn't really matter as long as the crimp is secure

Daly BMS (250A 4s 12V) reading wrong cell voltage for first cell

Well I have taken a look at my batteries today and the cells are all within 1Mv of each other. I have just let them sit for the past couple of weeks with without any charging or discharging. As I said, I had a significant difference with one cell but never tested that cell with a meter to see...

Daly BMS (250A 4s 12V) reading wrong cell voltage for first cell

No there appears to be no other reset options now as it appears that they have changed the app again with an update. I too have one cell that shows a significant voltage difference but I haven't yet tested the cell with my meter. I will do that later and see if mine is misbehaving the same as...

Daly BMS (250A 4s 12V) reading wrong cell voltage for first cell

Try doing a factory reset on the BMS. I had a major issue once with one of two 250A BMS’s set up on two 12v batteries in parallel and that is what corrected it. Mind you I still have one that indicates a negative current when charging but I can live with that.

    Smart BMS App settings...?

The SOC is not an accurate measure of the actual state of charge. I have two real Daly BMS’s and mine are out significantly even though the voltages on each battery are the same. I can actually set the SOC on mine to whatever I like but really 1.3% difference in the SOC is nothing to worry...

    Problem with a lithium battery

When you said you were looking at VoltX batteries and I saw your nic then I had a guess that you were. I think VoltX are only in Australia. I’m at Nelson Bay NSW. Glad to see you got your battery going :).

    Controller help please!

No matter whether you have a 50Ah or 100Ah battery there is no difference in the system. The crucial things are that if you are connecting more than two solar panels in parallel then you should fuse the panels. The others are providing a fuse between your battery and inverter, and battery and...

How do I Size a BMS for a LiFePO4 Battery Pack

I have the exact same set up as yours except I have a 250a Daly BMS on each battery. The only reason that I have 250a is that I built one battery then built another. A 200a BMS on each battery will provide you with ample headroom and if you look at @FilterGuy post then you can see you could...

    Controller help please!

In relation to your solar panels the type of battery does not matter. Your controller matters in relation to the type of batteries and the voltage. If your Rich solar controller is the one in the link below then yes you can use that instead of the Colman controller. Connect the controller to...

    LifePO4 100 vs 200 amp bms

I agree with you and mfg stated that there was only a $50 difference in price. I have a 3000/6000w inverter but my two 280Ah batteries each have a 250a BMS. This was because I built one and then built another later and wanted to keep the same BMS. Whilst I have a 3000w inverter I have never...

    LifePO4 100 vs 200 amp bms

A 100A BMS on each battery will with an approximate equal draw from each battery will allow you to draw 300a. A 3000w inverter will draw 250a @ 12v so even allowing for inefficiencies of the inverter you are well covered.

Just a total noob building a 8S JBD BMS from Amy Wan

You need ring terminals in the size that either fit your terminal bolts or the bolts on the busbar like these. https://www.cabac.com.au/p/electrical-power-connectivity/terminals/pre-insulated-terminals/rt1-25-6 and a crimper like this...

Inverters come with TWO positive and TWO negative 4AWG cables...

Yes and most people bin those and make their own as i did with my Giandel 3000w inverter. 2 x 3 AWG but if I hadn’t been so impatient I would of made them out of 2 AWG. My 4 AWG got warm on high current draw.

Just a total noob building a 8S JBD BMS from Amy Wan

Yes, but you still connecting to the positives even in the middle of the busbars. Think about which way the current to the BMS runs irrespective of whether your + of one cell is connected to the - of the next cell. Just remember to take your busbars off to drill them as we don't want to see...

    Battery Weight over Floor joists

I could do the calculations for you but straight out you are talking about the weight of two adults and structurally your floor most certainly can take that. Without even looking at the stress grade of your floor joists at a 10 ft span they wouldn’t even have any spring in them let alone be...

    Importing Eve Cells into Australia

Ok, Amy is fantastic and you will get quality cells. When I purchased mine I am assuming that the GST was included in the shipping costs as there were no other costs involved after the purchase costs. I would just check with Amy that that the shipping costs are from door to door excluding GST...

    Importing Eve Cells into Australia

Who are you buying from? I have had two shipments of 4 cells plus BMS and there were no extra charge for GST or customs. Goods under $1000 are no longer GST free. Goods under $1000 and the seller collects and pays the GST, over $1000 and you pay...
