    Avoid HQST!

Sorry. You're correct I didn't answer your original question. For the past 14 months I've had 2 batteries mounted in parallel in my van while I travel. They were brand new when I began. Nearly every day they were topped off to 14.7 volts via solar/alternator. Last spring I saw a sudden...

    Avoid HQST!

Good point. I think I just don't want anybody else to be ripped off by this incredibly frustrating company. Your balancing point is an interesting one though. I hadn't considered it. I actually wonder if the fact that one battery was dying rapidly could have affected the slightly newer and...

    Avoid HQST!

I stupidly purchased 3 HQST 100Ah batteries from this scam of a company. My first battery died after 6 months. No customer support. My 2nd battery died after 14 months. Technically it is not dead but 6Ah capacity at 11.9 volts is basically dead. My third battery delivers 80Ah after only 6...

    $279 HQST 100ah Lifepo4... 4S4P Now!

My first battery died after 6 months. No customer support. My 2nd battery died after 14 months. Technically it is not dead but 6Ah capacity at 11.9 volts is basically dead. My third battery delivers 80Ah after only 6 months of light use. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Seriously if you even...

I wonder what happened to those HQST 100 AH LiFePo1 batterys?

I had 2 of the first generation ones and they both died. Customer service won't reply. I had 1 of the second generation units. After 8 months of use it only will get up to 80% capacity. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

    $279 HQST 100ah Lifepo4... 4S4P Now!

This guy did a review on the battery and couldn't get the low temp protection to kick in. It's possible the cells didn't get cold enough though. The review is generally positive.

    $279 HQST 100ah Lifepo4... 4S4P Now!

The HQST battery has low temp protection so at a minimum you know it’s got a different BMS. I bought HQST panels and have been impressed. They seem to be a good company.

    Newbie Van Build Questions

Thanks. That's probably wise. SOK seems like a good vendor and I will probably go that route. I really hadn't considered a single 100Ah battery based on the assumption that I would need more. I appreciate the insight. Maybe I need to sharpen my pencil and really try to define what amount of...

    Newbie Van Build Questions

I am a solar-newbie building a camper van from an empty Sprinter 170. I am putting 300W solar on the roof and will initially add 200Ah of LiPh battery storage. Not planning on using any high power electric appliances. I'm basically following Will's 400W w/alternator blueprint. While I don't...
