What EMI filter do I need?

To close the thread:- I tried adjusting the cabling from the CT which didn't help so decided to adjust the software code instead! The overall current measured was averaged over 400mS - changing this to average the current measured over 1000mS has resolved the issue. :)

What EMI filter do I need?

I shall try that and see.

What EMI filter do I need?

Yes - it's the AC current sensor - OP edited. Yes, DC chargers running on the grid and AC feed current to them is measured as fluctuating. Chargers are in parallel, it still happens with only one charger running. It does not happen if I use my Victron charger instead.

What EMI filter do I need?

Hi, I have two no-name budget chargers which I use for my 48V DIY battery bank. I monitor and control them with a ESP8266 microcontroller with the AC current sensor being a 15A current transformer clipped to the main house spur at the fusebox. Basic question - grid tie inverter with battery only

Probably not a good idea then - at least we don't have the Feds on this side of the pond!

Basic question - grid tie inverter with battery only

Hi, I have a 24V 2.5kWh battery system which is used to power some stuff I use in the evenings and is charged during the day with my on grid solar. It has spare capacity so I was thinking I could get a small 600W grid tie inverter to contribute to my home AC load - typically under a kW per day...

Switch AC outlet on when on-grid solar is generating

Thanks, I've decided to try DIY and have a clamp current transformer and a Wemos D1 mini coming today. :-)

Switch AC outlet on when on-grid solar is generating

Yes - only charge when there is 'free' solar. :) No, I need to measure the power being exported to the grid to allow for variable sun and variable use of power. This can be done with a clip meter to my house AC power cables or by reading the display on my Smart Meter - however, it does not have...

Switch AC outlet on when on-grid solar is generating

I have a 2.5Kw Solar on-grid setup in the UK. I also have a 24V 100Ah battery setup with an 250W AC charger which I use to power stuff at night. At the moment, I charge the battery when the sun is out - this works well, but I tend to micromanage it and spend far too long looking at the net...

Advice for DIY repair of Portable Power Generator

Update for this if anyone's interested! I stripped the battery pack down and it was obvious there had been some leakage. Further investigation revealed puncture holes in two of the four cells caused by the battery pack shifting within the power station enclosure and getting impaled on the self...

Advice for DIY repair of Portable Power Generator

Somewhat interestingly, I've just tried charging it - thought I see if any area of the battery was getting hot. After 10 mins, the voltage has reached 12V and the BMS metal plate is getting very hot - almost too hot to touch. Have stopped it charging - do the BMS modules normally get hot? Or...

Advice for DIY repair of Portable Power Generator

Hi Guru’s Newbie here – although I used to be an electronic design engineer in a past life and I have a multimeter and a soldering iron! Anyway, I have acquired a broken 750Wh portable power generator with a 12.8V 60Ah LiFePO4 battery pack and would like to save it from an early death. As it...
