    Renogy

I have the Renogy Lycan 5000, panels, wiring, fuses, etc from Renogy. I've been very happy with the products, but their customer service is woefully lacking. They've been helpful once they respond, but it can take weeks to get a simple question answered. I freakin love the Lycan 5000 though...

Lycan 5000 powerbox - is this solar panel configuration compatible?

In case it helps, here are the product pages for the panels and the Lycan: https://ca.renogy.com/200-watt-12-volt-monocrystalline-solar-panel/ https://www.renogy.com/lycan-5000-power-box/

Lycan 5000 powerbox - is this solar panel configuration compatible?

Hello all. I've just bought a Lycan 5000 power box, and I think this solar configuration is okay, but I would hugely appreciate someone more experienced having a look. The Lycan manual states: I have 8 "12v" panels at 200w each, wired as 2 paralleled series of 4. (4x200w in series)+(4x200w...

ECO Flow Delta Pro VS Renogy Lycan Power Box 5000

I just got the Lycan and it seems amazing, but I'm a total newb so take it with a large grain of salt. But it charges amazingly fast, is very easy to setup and use, and keeps my fridge and wifi and hepa filter going all night with plenty to spare for morning coffee and computers. I'm also...

Does this 3000w 12v configuration work; and how should this kind of system be grounded?

Very helpful reply, thanks! The scc is this one: https://ca.renogy.com/rover-100-amp-mppt-solar-charge-controller which has a max pv input rating of 5200W/48v. The panel (https://ca.renogy.com/200-watt-12-volt-monocrystalline-solar-panel/) specs say Open-Circuit Voltage (Voc): 27V But they...

Does this 3000w 12v configuration work; and how should this kind of system be grounded?

I'm cobbling together an off grid system with some renogy batteries I bought on sale, which cannot be wired in series (something I did not understand the implications of at the outset). I intend to eventually build a more sensible 48v system, but I'm the meantime I'm going to get started with...

    Battery fuse sizing

It's able to monitor the incoming wattage, battery charge status, and load

    Battery fuse sizing

Would it be acceptable to fuse the batteries at 125a? The blue sea 125a terminal fuses are presently much cheaper than the 100a for some reason.

    Battery fuse sizing

Actually that one plugs in directly to the batteries and tell me all its stats.

    Battery fuse sizing

I have one of these, do I need one of those as well?: https://ca.renogy.com/bt-2-bluetooth-module-w-rs485-port/

    Battery fuse sizing

Will a fuse holder with a 3/8" hole connecting to a 5/16" stud be an issue? There's still a plate to plate connection.

    Battery fuse sizing

Lol I don't even know what that is yet

    Battery fuse sizing

That seems smart. Would I need a couple of 6-stud busbars then, 4 studs for the batteries, one for the charger, and one for the inverter?

    Battery fuse sizing

Unfortunately, the inverter is 12v and the batteries cannot be used in series, so... next time!

    Battery fuse sizing

If I have 4 @ 12v 100ah lithium ion batteries in string parallel using 4/0 wire, connected to a 3000w inverter, what size of fuse do I want on each positive battery terminal. I am assuming a 250amp breaker between the batteries and the inverter, and a 100amp fuse or breaker between the 100amp...

Trying to understand how different DC setups affect the AC output

Can anyone explain (in non technical terms) how different configurations of DC power affect the AC power that the inverter gives? Particularly the difference between high volt/low amp and low volt/high amp setups, assuming the same total wattage. If the combined watts are the same, and it is...

Looking for help understanding what I need for fuses/breakers etc

Can you post a link to that video? I'm okay with the system not covering all of our power needs right off the bat. We have a gas generator we can supplement with, and scale up (or rebuild) the system as we learn. I just want to get something going that's not going to fry itself or burn the...

Looking for help understanding what I need for fuses/breakers etc

It's for a fully off grid home. See my reply to camelcase for component specs. Are you saying series would be better but that it would require a different, non 12v inverter? Sorry, I'm still pretty dense on this stuff.

Looking for help understanding what I need for fuses/breakers etc

Yeah we want to be able to add more to it. We are completely off grid and currently use a gas generator for power. Would you agree that a series parallel combo would be better for the batter bank? How about the panels? Thanks kindly for your help!

Looking for help understanding what I need for fuses/breakers etc

So series would be better, or a combo of series and parallel? What is the optimal voltage?

Looking for help understanding what I need for fuses/breakers etc

Highly technical drawing. The cables connecting batteries to each other and to the inverter are 4/0(0000)awg. Any insight into what I need for breakers/fuses or anything else would be greatly appreciated. I'm a total newb, so eli5 please!
