    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

Well, I still added $75 to my credit. It would have been $53 more if they had not reduced it.

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

Grrrrrrr! Got my utility bill today and they reduced what they pay me for generation. The Avoided Cost went from $0.0555 to $0.03778! A reduction of 32%. Yea, not too happy about that. Going to hurt my ROI for sure. Not sure if the Avoided Cost is truly the whole sale rate of electricity...

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

Put the high altitude gasoline carburetor jet in the Firman Tri-Fuel (T07053) generator yesterday, put the oil in it, and ran it off of natural gas for 10 minutes to make sure it worked. Today we had snow and pretty much no solar. Great time to run the generator for the five hours to break it...

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

Finished installing the Heat Pump Hot Water Heater along with a mixing valve about ten days ago. Set the temperature of the 80 gallon Rheem to 150 degrees and the mixing valve to 130 degrees. I have it set on the Energy Saver mode which mostly uses the heat pump unless the temp gets too low...

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

The Gen input can be used in several ways, Generator, AC Coupled, out to a smart load panel, etc. But yea, in my case, the AC coupled PV and DC PV are both operating at the same time. I enabled the AC Coupled on Gen Port setting. In the manual Grid Peak Shaving with a generator confuses me...

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

I am AC coupling through the Gen input. I wanted to add more than 19kW of PV, so I did a mix of DC and AC PV to get me to 33.52kW. If I wanted to just do less than 19kW of PV, I would only use PV on the DC MPPTs.

Canceled my order this morning from Home Depot for the Rheem 80 gallon heat pump water heater. Learned about some heat pump advances using 120V. So I went down even deeper down the rabbit hole for water heater heat pumps. After looking at a bunch of brands and reading so many reviews it was...

    It's Working!!! Sol-Ark 15K, 33.52kW with 67 Panels AC+DC PV, 25kW SOK Batteries - Photo Diary

LOL! Just going to have really bloody cold showers I guess. Might try turning on the gas water heater for 4 hours every 2-3 days and do everything we need during that time then drain it again afterwords. It's leaking into a big drip pan so it's going into a drain. I'll see. A lot will...

Uggg. My natural gas 50 gallon water heater started leaking yesterday and I shut it down and drained it. Ordered a 80 gallon Rheem heat pump water heater yesterday evening. Need to run a 125A sub panel into the basement to support the 30A 240V circuit for the Rheem, 15A circuit for outside...

    35,000 SF Commercial Office Building

I can see where you going for sure. My two Growatt MIN 10K has been working great for me. The Growatt MIN let you combine 31 of them together. So those Growatts and inexpensive giant 550-750W panels. Might be best to order directly from China to get the best price. I directly ordered my...

    35,000 SF Commercial Office Building

Well, @mciholas said the demand charge in his first post is a significant part of his bill so I thought it would be important to mitigate it: At least with grid shaving there should be more of a flat charge from that point on.

    35,000 SF Commercial Office Building

I've been reading through the thread. I am impressed with the custom design of your building. I was looking at the Sol-Ark 30K manual and how it's different than the Sol-Ark 15K. It's an impressive design and it's interesting that they went with a high voltage DC setup for batteries...

    16kw DC Solar with Sol-ark 15k

The Sol-Ark 15K can export up to 32kW to the grid. I have mine limited to 25kW as that is the limit for my Qualifying Facility agreement with my utility. I have a mix of DC and AC Coupled PV.

Sol-Ark 15K with 44x440W panels, Tigo Optimizers and Homegrid Stack'd 38.4kWh battery pack AMA

There were not for me last year. The AHJ even said a shutdown button was not needed but I installed it anyway. Though, they did adopt the 2023 NEC starting this year. Also from what I understand, the NEC is suggestions and AHJs don't have to require everything. Maybe because most installs...

My Sol-Ark 15K also came with ARC fault off by default. Turned it on and within a couple of days I got an ARC fault. Turned it back off and I had no problems with it. One of my Growatt MIN 10Ks was also showing a ARC Fault. Growatt support tuned ARC Fault setting in it and I've never had an...

First negative power bill! -$44.94 Something that did not occur to me, my taxes are a negative value too. So hopefully I will never see power bill again, only credits. Then once a year, maybe around April, I'll get the power company to write me a check for the balance. It's working...

I guess I never thought my battery wouldn't be full by the time the cloud lens hit. So it would have a place to dump the excess energy. 30.2kW spike today today and it's totally cloudy out as we are expecting snow this afternoon. Sometimes this just seems to defy logic.

I'm actually surprised how much the system is producing. I was expecting a 9 year break even point when I built it, but based on what I've seen right now, I'm thinking 7 years (if I don't buy more battery) is the break even. Though I could be overly optimistic with how much it will produce...

Yesterday I made my first 10 MegaWatts, yay! My utility adds a few extra charges such a delivery fee, time of use, taxes, etc. Those come out to be about $40 a month. My utility bills have before the solar was installed were normally been between $225-$400. The bills have been as follows...

Ive had solar for a year and now the utility company charges a demand fee... not cool.

I'm late to the party and I only read the first two pages. I have a demand rate between 4-8PM of $3.00. I have my Sol-Ark 15K set to not utilize any grid power during that time and to use solar and/or batteries during that time. Reading your first post, the demand charge is set to 15 minutes...

    Sol-ark 15k and SOK batteries

Is this the Pace BMS in all the server rack batteries?

I am in the same situation, as such I purchased the SOK batteries instead of Trophy batteries. The SOK batteries also had a non prorated warranty which was a requirement for me. But now that the system is alive and operational since November, I'm looking into what is best for the house. I...

Is this the Pace BMS in all the server rack batteries?

Got a reply back from them. Shipping cost to my door in the Denver area is $1850. So under $8K for 50kWh. They did say there were under big promotion right now. I replied back if there were user serviceable. If not, I'll have to DIY my own. I really don't expect to get much of a warranty...

Is this the Pace BMS in all the server rack batteries?

Another downside is they might not be user serviceable, then considering warranty work on a welded pack would be bad, and who knows if they will still be around. Something I really like about the SOK batteries, on both accounts. User serviceability is a requirement.

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

Good idea about keeping the SOKs for the house and just DIY the other packs and take them with me. I wonder if Dexter would give me the parameters for the PACE BMS to have it communicate with the other SOK batteries. I don't think the PACE BMS would care if the battery pack is larger than...
