    DC disconnect recommendations.

Thank you, I was hoping to find something like that.

    DC disconnect recommendations.

Can anyone recommend a DC disconnect that I can pit on the outside of the house for the electric company? Ground mount with 3 strings of 340 volts/10amps going to a sunny boy 7.7 in the basement. Everything I am finding is not outdoor rated or AC only. Thanks.

    Voltage drop.

Wow, thank you for the great explanation and taking the time to write it. I sure learned a lot. I have not bought the wires yet so I can get any size but I'm thinking 10 gauge is probably a lot harder to get through the conduit than 12?

    Voltage drop.

The max amps per mppt is 10 on the sunny boy so I believe only 3 strings to it are possible not one?

    Voltage drop.

It will be 3 strings back to the inverter, unless the other is more desirable?

    Voltage drop.

Yes, 3 strings of 10 in series.

    Voltage drop.

Voc is 40.66 and vmpp is 33.94 10 panels per string

    Voltage drop.

I have decided to go with a sunny boy 7.7 inverter on our grid tied array. We are using 30- 340 watt q cell panels and there will be 3 strings going to the inverter. My only question is the calculator for voltage drop is showing only a 2% drop for the 170 feet of wire to the inverter using...

My DIY 60 kW 220 panel setup

Wow, thanks for sharing. It looks great! I see some open yard where another array can fit :)

Would you pick a string inverter or microinverter?

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying go with 2 in case of an issue with a panel/panels then the other half of the array keeps working?

Would you pick a string inverter or microinverter?

Hello all, In the process of building everything on a grid tie system(have panels and mount built), would appreciate input. It is 30-340 watt panels about 175 feet to the breaker box in the house. I was kind of leaning towards a sunny boy 7.7 inverter because I liked the sps function but am...

32.5Kw grid tie ground mount DIY install.

How is your electric company with net metering? I was told by my company anything over 9.4 kw AC grid tie would require a bigger transformer by the house. You will be running about 120 amps AC? That is a big project, looking forward to updates.

    Understanding over-paneling.

What panels are you using with those microinverters?

    Understanding over-paneling.

While researching on the PVwatts website for my grid tie build it shows that if I use Iq8 microinverters instead of Iq8+ with my 340 watt panels it will produce 99.7% the amount of electricity. It seems a waste to go with Iq8+ then? I tried searching over paneling but most results are in...

    Hello

Well the audit part.... I think the planning part I am ok. A background of everything. We are moving to a relative's home who are downsizing. Everything is electric in the home. The other options are fuel oil and propane (no thanks). I have reviewed the electric bills and talked...
