NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

So, received my LFP cells :) All cell voltage seems to be matched, a max difference of 0.002V and IR between 0.70-0.77 mOhm. Except one cell is 1.22mOhm ?! Do I need to worry about the cell with 1.22mOhm IR?

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

Not true @houseofancients, there are commercial home batteries available which are also using other chemistry than LFP. It's more the DIY part why they do not cover you when the sh*t happens. But it all depends on which insurance you have :).

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

Thanks all for the comments. Here (Netherlands) it's fairly easy to get EV batteries, BMW PHEV 60V (2kWh module 16S) goes as low as 25,-- EUR per kWh. Although no LFP yet from EV's. But total costs is quite high as the cells are <100Ah which mean more hardware to connect/monitor them all if...

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

I have not made up my mind already, otherwise I would not start this thread... I did had plan for NMC yes but was still debating on the best choice hence this thread... You only answer with "I do not want them in my home" or "it's dangerous" but no further explanation is not very helpful where...

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

Yeah, I was thinking the same way on how to monitor them. Indeed so my thoughts, when used within the specs both chemistry (NCM/LFP) are evenly safe/dangerous. But this is something that in normal usage will not happen, I have seen the video but I still cannot imagine how you would...

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

Yep Victron stuff was indeed more expensive than expected when you count all materials @SeaGal. Well guess starting with 20 kWh LifePO4 is better choice then.

NMC or LiFePO4 based on kWh price and budget?

Hi all, After reading a lot about LifePO4 safety I am now a bit scared to use NMC even though when used within the specs they both are safe... The price for LifePO4 is about 150-160 EUR per kWh (B-grade 4000 cycles) and 190-200 EUR per kWh (A-grade 6000 cycles). The price for NMC is about...

    8s Lifepo4 BMS on Li-ion Cells?

Use an smart BMS like JKBMS which you can configure for LifePo4/Li-Ion/LTO and if needed customize the upper/lower voltages...
