    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

yep, I see exactly the same thing. As far as I can tell, the 100% reset happens when any cell hits RCV, but the absorption timer only kicks in when the pack voltage its maintained at or above RCV x cell count. At least it seems this way, because I have not seen abnormally short termination of...

    MASSIVE Overpaneling -MPPT input current

ah yeah makes sense, as the draw falls close to zero the voltage rises up. I was just back to front hehe :)

    MASSIVE Overpaneling -MPPT input current

Mppt regulates the input by raising the voltage, if you look at the curves of any panel, past the maximum point the power drops off a cliff. By this method the controller isn't burning off power, it just isn't produced. Even the largest array can easily be reduced to essentially zero. Hence why...

    MASSIVE Overpaneling -MPPT input current

I have a victron 150/45 (max power 2600w @ 48V) with an array around 3kw (VOC ~110V, Isc ~40A), fwiw it clips at around 2550w into the battery when the PV would have kept going up, seems happy enough. Also planning to put around 6.5kw on a 250/100 (max 5.6 ish kw). Also notice my goodwe in a...

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

yeah, similar to what I see. With the victron once float kicks in after the ABS time, it generally sits around 99-98% for me, and the system draws a little from the battery until the voltage drops to the RCF value. The soc jumping is annoying but so far hasn't been a problem. I could see a case...

DIY 280AH battery JK BMS JK-PB2A16S20P Canbus to SMA 5048

Yes, type b victron cable works with these (tested with a victron anyway! Not sure about other inverters) Curious if you guys get the issue I have with this bms where the soc could jump from 85-90 ish straight to 100 under some conditions, if charge suddenly goes from low to high (4-5kw) and a...

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

interesting re. the cerbo. The comms always worked for me just missing the consumed/ and capacity Ah, the system is running without a smart shunt, everything is controlled by the JK. Cerbo running v3.20. That RCV 100% setting tho, its real annoying, it cant even be disabled or even set higher...

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

heh I had the same thought, I left a comment on his JK inverter BMS settings video but I guess it was too old at the time, no response as of yet!

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

to update, on the off chance this is useful for anyone else - adjusting RCV from 3.45 to 3.46 helped the soc jumping to 100% issue but still present, now it generally only happens >90% soc and less often. JK need to change the trigger from a *single cell* momentarily hitting this voltage to the...

Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

yes the deye units do look good from the AIO perspective. that system I setup already had a 250/100 MPPT for one of the panel sets, so going victron for the rest did make sense... combined with the remote config which is really good... as an aside, I found it hard to find good price mega fuses...

JK BMS - Does It Recalculate Capacity?

Yes for sure. I wonder what triggers the learning or adjustment specifically. Fwiw I checked my bms (jk B2a24s15p) with around 1y126d / 340 cyc or so and the total Ah / cycles match the programmed capacity exactly.

Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

Cheers :) it's a bit rough but just had two days to get the old lead acid 24v out and this in as well as a some work on the roof. We shall see, it does occasionally get to 40c or a little above but pretty rare. Yeah no a/c ... May set up a fan or something if required....

Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

I just setup a victron system (for my parents, off grid), after setting up an AIO (mine, grid hybrid, goodwe). Must say... I am kinda converted... everything works so well... no terrible software or bad manuals... remote monitoring is ace... yeah it cost a bit more, but so modular... so easy to...

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

anyone? I was thinking I might up the charge voltage to 3.46 or 3.465, it might stop the SOC jumping issue.

    JK Inverter BMS & Victron

I recently setup a victron system (MP2 5kva, cerbo, 150/45 and 250/100 MPPTs) with a DIY battery (16x EVE280V3) and new JK inverter 200A BMS (no smartshunt, JK calling the shots over CAN...). Anyway, its all working pretty well aside from a few niggles... (the JK is running the latest firmware...

    Cell prices coming down

DDP to australia was USD 405 (10% tax), but that included a 16S box. previous order of 17x EVE 280V3 (no box) was 323 USD DDP to aus.

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

I setup the system with the EEL box & JK 200A inverter bms on the weekend (parents off-grid system). Its running with a victron MP2, a cerbo GX, and two charge controllers with around 6kw PV. The JK is the main battery monitor / controlling the charging via DVCC on the cerbo. All going well...

    JK-BMS-CAN with new Cut-Off Charging Logic (open-source)

I just want to say... thanks for all the work by the devs. Been running this since the early UKSA versions, and was sad to see it go closed source. My inverter (Goodwe5048) had some issue where it would just periodically stop charging without BMS feedback, so this whole project fixed a serious...

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

in regards to the EEL box, I did some load testing sustaining 90-110A for around 20 mins, the crimped 'pins' I guess for the 200A MCB are definitely a hot point, hitting around 55-60°C. I would be hesitant running this close to limits ie 200A for any extended period without swapping to a...

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

built the battery today. I had to use the EVA foam and epoxy sheets to get the batteries nice and snug (EVE280V3). There were a few bits and pieces that were a bit dodge, similar cable length issue as nebulight for the breaker to main+ terminal, somewhat fixed by flipping the breaker direction...

just got the same box delivered :) did you use the EVA foam between the cells, the green sheets, or both?

Cable Lugs (for MCBs) vs Ferrule?

I used them for 35mm2 into a 100A breaker, hmmm they do get quite warm at sustained 80-90A. Thinking to swap it for a breaker with proper lugs.

Need EVE 280K Batteries: Luyuan? Qso? Docan? Other Companies?

last order from Docan (EVEv3, USD 70/pc +s/h) arrived here in australia in record time... shipped from docan on 19/01, arrived at my door today 22/02... wasn't expecting them for another month?? cells look good, QR intact, manufacture date ~20/10/23, no testing yet as waiting on box from another...

Trying to understand Combiner Box sizing / restrictions

the charge controller looks similar to this one, https://www.eco-worthy.com/products/60a-pwm-lcd-display-solar-charge-controller-regulator-12v-24v-autoswitch max PV OCV=<55V (confirm this value for your controller before plugging anything in!) so you can use 2x panels in series x 4 strings in...

    DIY battery longevity

I built a battery around 15 months ago, from CATL 302AH cells (remarked QR, B grade likely), still flat as etc no change there, has around 320 cycles on it (by the JKBMS). chg to 3.47-3.49 VPC @ max 100A in or out. Still running well, I do have one cell that has developed a slightly different...

failed EVE LF280 after 150 cycle!

could you make 3x 4s drop in 'blocks' but with plugs / connectors between blocks that result in a single 12s pack / connect to a single BMS. sorry if I misunderstood the problem. once working right you should not need to periodically rebalance (assuming no cell fault), my DIY pack has over 300...

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

I have a EEL box with new JK bms and cells from docan on the way, planned for use in a victron off grid system, with the BMS controlling the charging etc (no separate smart shunt). Following along and will post how it goes (probably end of march by the time it all gets here).

How many of you set your battery max discharge under 20% ?

I use 10% dod limit, but only charge to ~3.46-3.47 VPC with a slightly longer absorption time at that voltage (45min). In winter 10% is hit often but in summer very rarely. my cycle rate is around 0.6/D after around 7 months. at 10 years thats around 2200 cycles, if they last that long with...

    BYD cells/packs, experiences?
