I set my heater off at 21c it drops to about 20 and comes back on. It works a treat at this. Some times the battery is just below temperature to get full amps but once you start getting a charge in it, it will reach optimum temperature in minutes. Hope that helps

I have pushed back and awaiting feed back. I had a telephone consultation followed by a servayor who came to the property and nothing was said about the loft not suitable or recommended. The installers are directly employed by the company I used.

When doing nothing my battery sits at 30a once it receives a charge it goes to 50a and after about 10 mins full at 100a, this is for 2 batteries as I believe you will only get 50a with a single battery

This is what I have done and its working well. Some before and after pics and during the warmer months the front panel can be removed.

UPDATE I have put 100mm celotec pir insulation board around my batteries. I have attached a 12w (11"×11") habistat reptile mat to the front panel of the batteries. I have fitted a inkbird thermostat controller for safety so it cuts the power if it gets too hot. This seems to have worked and...

Due to having 2 batteries and cables spanning both batteries I have had to make a larger box and it would take a larger heater to keep it warm so leaving a heater on constantly might not be a good idea. I have pushed back to the installers to see if they can fit batteries better suited to the loft.

I can't find a battery temperature on the system

As a test I have just force charged the system and after running for 5 mins it has now gone to 100a maximum charge. So it seems that it does not recognise any heat increase until it starts to draw a charge. So the heating does work but won't register on bms untill the system is drawing a charge...

To be fair my installer seemed very taken back by the comments so perhaps fox have not been so open to them. It would be interesting to put some heat up there and watch them work as they should then we have concrete proof.

Might be a daft question but if we do have to build a heated cabinet will it need to house the inverter too or just the batteries

I will hold off too for now. I have sent the Information from our chats to my installer he is now chasing fox for answers as he said none if this Information was passed to them. Atleast it feels like we are getting closer to sorting this issue.

Smaller heater

Not sure what these heat lamps are your using and abviosly it needs to be fire safe fo you have any links or pictures. Also they do a smaller tube heater with built in thermostat. Any advice appreciated before I go shopping lol

Yes celotex and pir board are the same thing just different suppliers, seems strange to use energy to keep batteries warm to be able to save energy

I work in DIY trade and pir Insulation board will be ideal and like Seagal said remove the insulation from below so the heat can come through

Yes it is but this has been happening fir a while now, before it got cold so not too sure about what fox said, but does make sense

Just like yours mine was on 24amp for 2 batteries and has now gone yo 100amp

Mine is ok at the moment and the installers said that solis are going to do a update. I told the installers they need to fix the issue or change the system to one that works, I'm not excepting a system that does 80% of what I paid for.

Mine is set to 20% but will go below this but just at small amounts and will force charge at 10% back up to 20%. It will be Interesting to see if it charges your battery only now untill full before sending to the drid
