Anyone know how important the panel edge seal is for long term integrity? Am I right in thinking that the back-sheet seal to the glass is the most important part?

If there're going to do that, the least they could do is align the new label with the old so I would be none the wiser...

Could the labels have been replaced due to changing regulations or certifications? Doesn't explain the other issues

I think the OP is talking about putting it in series with one of the voltage sense leads.

Almost talked myself out of it, but I am no longer isolated if this ground is connected... Battery could be disconnected from charger for medium long periods. Battery is only 60 Ah.

Hmmm. Good point, maybe I am overthinking this... The controller and all the rest of the components(contactor, fan, etc) are powered from an Isolated 50W dc-dc converter. With this isolated, I shouldn't have issues I believe.

It appears that the signal GND pin located at the GPS/UART port on JK BMS is not isolated from battery negative. This means a possible current path even with the mosfets turned off? I am working on a controller that will communicate with the JK. It looks like I will need to isolate these signal...

Looking at a picture I have inside the BMS, it looks like a different mosfet. It is labeled "G042N10".
