SolarEdge Daytime Solar Options during power outtage?

I think I do have the BUI, but from this thread it sounds very iffy that the SolarEdge firmware would work properly anyway. So I’m thinking an old-fashioned manual transfer switch is less money and less hassle. I admit having the generator charge the LG battery would be a great benefit if it...

SolarEdge Daytime Solar Options during power outtage?

I have the same (or very similar) equipment as other posters in this thread - SolarEdge inverter, 10kwH LG battery, etc — and recently bought a generator hoping to connect it to the same critical loads panel that the LG battery powers as my primary backup source when the grid goes down. My...

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

I figured it out. My on/off switch on the lathe contains a latching relay, which also has over-amperage protection. That relay was cutting out for some reason when the inverter was powering. On the grid, it doesn't cut out. And if I hold the ON button in for a second while powering on, then...

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

If there are beeps, I can't hear them. But I am auditorily challenged and the lathe is in another room from the inverter over 40 feet away.

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

My idea for adding some start caps is based on a 3-phase rotary converter. There, you need to start turning a 3-phase motor from single-phase input, and to do that you can store a charge in start caps and then discharge that after powering up 2 of the 3 phases. That provides the rotary force...

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

FilterGuy, your comments were most interesting. If I am understanding you correctly you are saying my inrush or startup current is only around 7 amps AC? That should be no problem for the solar system to handle. Also, @Remote Power Mania this motor is a single phase.

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

Pure sine wave magnum energy inverter. Batteries are 4 parralelied simplified 3.5’s as mentioned above it can deliver at least 70 amps

Lathe motor won’t turn over on solar

I have a hobbyist lathe with a single-phase 115v motor of 3/4 HP. This motor turns on normally when I am connected to grid power, and VERY occasionally when connected to solar. But most of the time on solar the motor does not spin up. I’m wondering what I can do to allow it to start on solar...
