JK bms is blowing up rs 485 converter

Yes, I tried different adapters and cables. I even tried switching cables and adapters from the working batteries. They work on the other batteries, but anything that gets put on that one bms, destroys the converter.

JK bms is blowing up rs 485 converter

Only one bms causes problems. The other 5 work fine.

JK bms is blowing up rs 485 converter

Sorry, I meant this converter that goes between the bms and the adapter. That is what goes bad when I hook it up to bms #4

JK bms is blowing up rs 485 converter

I have 6 eve 48 volt lifepo4 batteries with 16 cells per battery. I have a jk bms on each one. I am using solar assistant. A while back, battery number 4 quit monitoring. I can still monitor it with the jk ap, but I can't see it on my solar assistant software. After a series of trial and...

    JK BMS: canbus AND/OR rs485

I have had fits with getting my rs485 adapter to work with one of my battery bms's. At one time I had 6 bms's and their batteries connected to solar assistant. One quit working. I have tried 7 different rs485 adapters like you have pictured from 4 different suppliers, and I can't get the last...

    The numbers are off....

Sorry for not being clear. I ran 6 checks, one for each isolated battery. The load at the time was about 1000 watts. All batteries when individually tested, showed a wattage draw very close to the load except for battery number 1. That one showed a 500 watt draw with the 1000 watt load. Battery...

    The numbers are off....

Here is another confusing issue to me. Where is the missing about 25% power coming from? Here is another confusing issue to me. Where is the missing about 25% power coming from? This is off grid with no solar coming in and only battery power at this hour. 150 watts has to be coming from...

    The numbers are off....

It still doesn't explain why solar assistant is only showing 500 watts from the battery when the load is 1000 watts and when the other 5 batteries are disconnected. (battery breakers off) That is what makes me question the bms numbers because that is where Solar Assistant gets its numbers, right?

    The numbers are off....

I posted this info on another question and a follow up but did not get a reply. I have new info now that hopefully will allow for those smarter than me to answer. On my solar system, I just added three more 48 volt batteries for a total of six, and one of the new batteries charges slowly and...

    Uneven charging and discharging

I did some experimenting yesterday after the sun went down and found that when I isolate the batteries that seem to charge and discharge slower, the wattage is wrong. For example, with only the one battery online, Solar Assistant said that it was pulling about 500 watts but my inverter was using...

    Uneven charging and discharging

Those were the first things that I did. I do not have any ring terminals stacked. When charging, the top battery on the chart charges at about half the rate of the other two, and discharges at about half the rate as well. What makes the most sense would be connections, since all cables are the...

    Uneven charging and discharging

On my solar system, I just added three more 48 volt batteries for a total of six, and one of the new batteries charges slowly and discharges slowly. (on the picture, it is the top dark blue bar.) All six are lifepo4 eve 3.2 cell x 16 batteries, giving me two banks of three 16 cell batteries...
