Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

I'll try yes. Thanks for the interest. It might help many. For now if anyone wants to join Dala's discord channel I've shared all my steps there when I did them. I'd share the link if I knew how. But just search for it and you'll find it I'm sure. Mostly because he is the one who open...

    JK-BMS PB1A16S15P vs. JK-BMS B2A24S15P

I just bought the 24s 15p as I don't need the inverter either for my project mini EV. I like the idea of having the 2A active balancing capability. I'll try the newer JK BMS model for inverters someday though when I'm in need of that to talk to my future inverter. For now this is best for me...

Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

Thanks Daddy. I took the option for sea shipping today. You were right. Air was not worth it. I just placed the order for qty 26 of these. $767 for the cells and $542 for sea DDP shipping. And a $48 surcharge by alibaba for the transaction. So $1348 total. I hope that's reasonable. $29.50 per...

Inverters that support high voltage (400v) storage batteries

Haha. Yep. :) Good thing the car makers already designed and included a robust BMS inside their packs. This makes it SO much easier and more reliable. As well as safe in not having to open up the packs. This is the way to go.

Inverters that support high voltage (400v) storage batteries

Thanks guys. I've added the spec sheets for the two inverters I've found so far to the top post here for future reference. This might helps others also searching.

Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

Very interesting times back then to have to do that I bet! :) It's nice to see battery technology finally progressing a bit. But I sense it's being held back a lot from what it could be. Update on the alibaba quotation. His email quote came back at $1514 delivered with $747 of that being air...

Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

Oh, that makes sense now that I think about it. The original specs for the ECOMS said it was rated for 50 kilometer range with a top speed of 60 kph. So if 4x of that perhaps around 200km? But they would weigh 150lbs less or so I believe. So a full person less in weight carried. So perhaps even...

Inverters that support high voltage (400v) storage batteries

Thanks guys. Appreciate the replies. @SeaGal Thanks for that. How do you like your Solis? How's the app quality and reliability? Good company? Good support? No issues overall? Dala's 'battery-emulator' is able to fake being a supported battery. The Solis is on his list so it seems at least...

Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

Hey Daddy, Thanks for the reply. I've been reading a few of your posts in other threads and love your straight shooter stance. We think very much alike. I look forward to talking more about Japan with you when we can. I'm in Okinawa. Been here since '88. Saw the decline coming to the states way...

    High Voltage DIY LiFePO4

Hey MyK3y. You beat me to the punch. Nice! Glad to see others singing our tune. Are you on Dala's discord channel? I picked up a 30kWh Leaf pack for $600 delivered here in Japan a month or two ago and swapped it into my newly aquired 2014 Nissan leaf. Was a super easy conversion as I didn't...

    High Voltage DIY LiFePO4

Hey OffGridForGood. Liking your posts. I've not read to the end of this thread all the way yet, but I've been in search of, "Are there any single phase 240V (60hz) high voltage inverters on the market at this point in time?", for a few months now. Well, for me 100v 60hz as I'm in Japan. So far...

Seeking Advice: Low Voltage vs. High Voltage Batteries for Home Energy Storage

Yes. Check out the battery-emulator by Dala. Open source. It lets you connect up EV car battery packs to inverters that support HV storage batteries higher than 48v. Like 400v Nissan Leaf car battery packs. Info here: https://github.com/dalathegreat/Battery-Emulator Supported inverter models...

Why are people afraid of High Voltage Batteries?

Hi. They can now thanks to the work being done over on Dala's EV discord channel. So far they have quite a few working brands and models listed on their wiki page where they connect car EV battery packs with great success. The cost is very low for the kWh provided by these large battery packs...

Inverters that support high voltage (400v) storage batteries

Hi guys, Second post. I'm in Japan (100v 60hz) and am researching the best inverter brand and model to buy for a DIY solar build. I intend to connect a Leaf 24kWh battery to it for home storage. I'm a member of Dala's EV discord group but have additional questions. So far I've been able to...

Where to buy LFP cells in Japan?

Hey guys. First post. I'm rebuilding a used Toyota COMS (ToyoBody) EV. Upgrading the 6 lead acid batteries to lithium. 72v system. Looking at a JK-B2A24S20P BMS. That a good one? Anyway, so far I think the EVE 100ah 3.2v LF100LA cells may be a good bet to replace the six dead Panasonic...
