Bulging BYD packs

I have tried using car battery terminals in a pinch. Trying to get a 3000 watt xenon lamp power supply back running at night, and only found an auto parts store still open. It all powered up, for about 10 minutes. Then the battery terminal melted off. 100 amps is less than cranking a car, but you only crank a car for a few seconds.

Well, yeah... ya gotta link several in parallel with sustained amp draws...

Little update. After over a week with no reply from battery hookup they finally sent an email asking if I’d like a replacement battery, to which I replied yes. No reply or battery in over a week since then, not sure if they shipped one or not.

On the good news side I did a week long balance process on the previously tested pack followed by another capacity test. came up with great results.

update on this....I did end up receiving a replacement non bulging pack, much flatter than any of the other 5 I received lol

I set the severely bulging one aside till tonight. Pulled the side covers off and discover one of the cells foil vents was blown open. That cells tests at .2v, all others are 2.8-3v, guess it’s safe to say this battery is completely trash, really glad I technically didn’t pay for it.
