Recently replaced the PC power supply with one that comes from China. It converts AC to DC, but I find myself wondering if they use a transformer, a full bridge rectifier, or a combination?

It's important.

If there's a transformer in there then the American electrons are only creating a magnetic field and are not actually transferred into the PC. That is the American electrons are exciting the Chinese electrons as the worker electrons. The CPU, RAM, and other components are always entirely forced to run by electrons from China and it sounds a bit exploitive of the Chinese. Not to mention the American Electron Labor Unions rightfully objecting as its unfair competition since American's can't get in on the action. This is obviously disharmonious and ripe for a worker's revolution on both sides.

But, if it's a full bridge rectifier then there's a mixture of the two mighty nation's electrons in there working harmoniously together and possibly the dawn of the age of Aquarius, which is notoriously hard to pinpoint (ref) but might be after Net-zero (i.e., 2050). I suspect this is the case as the PSU has a low THD, but you can see why I'm worried about it. I suppose the copper could have come from America, Mexico, or Chile, so possibly a far more global set of worker electrons.

What? You're just realizing now this is the humor forum? Have a great Tuesday!

Reminds me of a true story:
I started my career working for a small two way radio shop back in the late 70's. We were bidding on a truck radio for a local fire department and it was between us and a local Batwings shop. Both radios were rated at 40 watts but the competing salesman told the chief that their electrons were bigger and stronger and faster than ours, so that justified the higher price. It worked, we didn't get the sale.

I don't care where the worker electrons come from as long as they don't merge with the positron anarchists.
The risks are too high of starting a Hulk charging mode in my SCC.
Not that I mind a beefier build but it's tough being green.

Didn't you used to be a Mod? Is this why you are now not one?

I'm in the process of YOU giving me a smile headache. Bout peed myself on that one.

Happy Twosday tue eue to. :ROFLMAO:

I don't understand the skeptical comments. Everyone should know that Chinese electrons are defined in Orwellian. You know...

War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength...

Negative is Positive.

It's why a Chinese BMS switches the left side of the battery, instead of the right side.

Serious testing has been done on this issue. USA import regulations require every electronic device imported into the USA have all the electrons replaced with the proper, location specific, electrons. Some inexpensive devices have been smuggled into the USA. There is an office within the Department of Energy that specialize in tracking these bootleg devices by closely monitoring the electric grid for the false electrons. Any one found to have one of these devices in the USA is subject to prosecution.
Some retailers such as Radio Shack were driven into bankruptcy. Others such as Best Buy have large divisions of specialists that insure their products cannot be discovered.

... USA import regulations require ....
I wondered about that as I have always heard that electron migration was bad... yet all DC circuits support it... those DC circuits are veritable underground railroads leading them to the promised lower voltage.

Shoot... got it off Amazon.

I'm truly almost sorry about that. But, it sounds like you haven't been exercising that muscle group enough which is just a shame.
It's also a good reminder these forums contain information that might hurt you, but definitely will your pocketbook... ; -)

Yes, possibly... it depends on who you ask ; -)

Now I'm worried about the air in my tires that are on my car Made In Japan.
If they're Michelin the tires may have come from France. Might also be nitrogen and not air. You might be able to tell by the pitch when you corner fast. Zé Screech?

Happy Thursday Everybody!

Well crap, I never thought about the tires being French. If that's the case I'm surprised the TPMS work at all. The French being so uptight about knowing other languages but not telling you that and insisting on talking to you in only French. Maybe my TPMS sensors have an API for French tires.
