If your cells are slightly bulged, like many of the EVE LF280K cells from first quarter of 2022 seems to be, how do you compress them without putting alot of stress on the bulged part of the cell? My idea is to use 3mm rubber sheets as isolators and to some degree distribute the presure more evenly. Would that be a good idea or should I use more rigid spacers? How about thermal conductivity? Do these batteries need coolig at maximum 0,5C discharge rates?

3mm rubber isolators sound like a good idea. You don't want to compress them, what you want to do is discharge them and then fixate them in place so they wont be able to swell when charged back up.

I’d bring them down to 3 volts per cell and cool before fixturing them. If it’s bulged about 1/8” or less per side it’s probably ok. At 3/16” or more you may have a problem brewing.
