Like many that have converted to Lifepo4 and still use there existing inverter charger (or an inverter with no charger) and only able to select a charge profile such as Gell or AGM (no lifepo4 option) there is a company called Progressive Dynamics here in the USA that makes a device marketed to the RV crowd. Its a stand alone charger/converter unit that plugs into your generator (any generator that has sufficient output) that can take over backup charge duties, and is designed specifically for Lifepo4.

Have a 48v system? Well, they make them in 12v and 24v models, which can also be put in series/parallel to get to the voltage or amps desired.

Another cool thing about these units is power/load delivery when charging. In a nutshell, if you are charging at 40a, but your load requirements from the inverter, jump to say 50a, rather than trip the generator breaker or disconnect, it will deliver the 40a at 24v (powered from generator) and allow for the battery to make up the other 10a, and just continue charging the battery when the loads decrease. Similar to what the Victron Muliplus does but with your existing inverter! The cost is very reasonable at $200ish for the 25a model and 300ish for the 40a model. Much cheaper than a new inverter. The above example is for the 40a model, but the link is for the 24a model. Same capabilities though.
