I have a question regarding inverters and I am wanting to calculate out the fuse I should use.
For the following example, lets use a 1000 watt inverter that has a surge capacity of 2000 watts.
For a 12 vdc system, I assume I take the 2000 watt surge and divide by 12 (2000/12) and get 167 so I would use a 200 amp fuse.
For a 24 vdc system, I would divide 2000 by 24 (2000/24) and get 84 so I would use a 100 amp fuse.
Am I thinking of this correctly?
