Hello!

I'm looking to convert our sailboat to LiFePO4 from SLA.
Boat currently has 6x 210Ah lead batteries.
Looking at two options:
x4 LiTime 460Ah (very similar size to the current batteries)
vs
x4-5 EG4LL 400Ah.

The LiTime are an easy 'drop in' and have more capacity....
but I'm wondering if the extra features (switches, comms, etcetc) of the EG4 LL are worth it? I would need to get a 5th battery to preserve (slightly exceed) total capacity, but the different form factor makes them harder to fit.

Each battery is currently retailing at $1300 each w/discounts.
If I go for LiTime - what would be worth getting? (planning on a Victron SmartShunt and a 200A kill switch on the +ve end of the batteries... but anything else?)

Thanks!!

There are a couple articles and comment streams over at panbo on the problems with comms n the Epoch and similar that are worthwhile reads. Not sure if LiTime have internal Class T to simplify wiring. Just an fyi
