Hello everyone
Im not sure if this is the right place, but I don't know where to find honest opinion about solar panels and heat pump...is it worth is Scotland... Edinburgh

I've been offered from two companies
One is cost me £25k ...£200 a month for next 10 years
SOLAR
I can confirm that the solar panels are Trina Solar 425 Vertex
The battery is a Sunsynk 5.2kw
The Inverter is a Sunsynk 3.7kw

AIR SOURCE
The Heat pump is an LG monoblock Therma V
The Thermal Battery/Tank is a Sunamp Thermino epv
Another company got 2 offers.. medium and better
£8k for medium £10k for better (photos attached)... without heat pump system
My annual usage of electricity is around 2800kwh...13000kwh for gas
Is it worth to invest for solar panels...is it worth to invest for heat pump?
Many thanks for all answers

1) Scotland is not know for being a solar friendly place weather wise so I'd recommend doing an expected PV production based off PV Watts or the calendar in my signature block.

2) I can't speak to your local rate/tarriff situation, but one does not install panels to save money anymore with TOU rates, no saving kilowatts in a bank for later use (net metering). Locally, I also don't recommend taking to neighbors about this because they likely have an early install with good rates that won't apply to you.

3) Is the heat pump worth it? I recently asked that question about a heat pump air conditioner, and I've decided that in order to find out if I will save or not I have to buy it.

Based off SEER ratings, I can expect the 4 Ton 20.5 SEER to run at 3.5 Kw including blower unit versus 4.5 kW now. I have two of those units and my math tells me I will save $500 per year based off using 1 less kW per unit. I don't know if you can base the inverter air conditioner heat pump off SEER alone because they are at least tow stage. Salesman will come later this month and I'm sure he will ensure me I will save without quantifying it with an actual dollar amount saved. There arecalculators on line that I can enter numbers and it will tell me a 10 -15 year payoff, but I don't believe that.
