I'm setting up a diy smartdrive hydro turbine as a trial and trying not to break the bank doing it until I see what I actually can get out of it.
Smartdrive motor - from free/broken Samsung washing machine
Penstock/pipe - 100m of 75mm flexible hose
Pelton wheel - ebay purchase
I'm already off-grid solar and will hookup to my existing mppt and won't worry about diversion yet, will manually open/close valves as necessary
What stumps me right now are proper nozzles for the water jets... Looking for something like this (but not $300...) or a semi-decent alternative.
What are you using?
(Would like to hear from ppl with actual experience rather than hypothetical "You could try this...")
